So my usual go to coating shop offer me new package

PPF coating
If do whole car almost 10k

Showed me the technology. Basically they hurl stones towards a sample piece half is PPF coated and half is normal

PPF coating after kena hit no chipping issues. Reversible scratch marks

Unker impressed.

Any car owner use PPF coating? If can prevent cb lorry stone chip on highways this is good

depends on the brand and quality as well, the cheaper brand i had will crack at the end of the ppf due to heat / sunlight for a period of time (notice this after just 1 year+)

Too expensive liao. I use 3M, 3k including tinting of windows. 3M is a US brand, not Taiwan or CCP, with 5 years warranty.

just PPF the front car done

make sure you get the high quality or else you will see the yellow residue or even wreck your car paint in long run

my gf's X70 went for ceramic pro coating, 10 layers, they added in free PPF for the boot bumper area.

Few times already when we move heavy stuff into the boot and take out, it scratched the ppf surface quite badly

After wiping a couple of rounds the scratches disappeared, like magic.

Shit's still overpriced but if you're driving a >100k car I think can justify the cost la.

Unless you are a car detailer enthusiasts.
No need bother with these stuffs

Most of the people i know after doing coatings, a year later they bring the car to normal car wash washed by workers who do not know about detailing.

Maybe I don't love my car as much.

If you ask me Pay RM10k or have some stone chips, I would rather have stone chips.

I can honestly say, I did the blue flame treatment from a reputable shop recommended in fnf. Sierra glow. Mr Chong explained every detail and step. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

From personal experience after 5 years of treatment, I'd say it's worth it. Expensive. At that time me Chong charges around 2k++ but include the windscreen treatment and all around glass treatment.

I will consider it again but I have not been updated on the price nor I've gotten a better car to do it.

i don't think PPF cost that much
and u only need to do it to the front of your car only
anything from door onward is kinda pointless

i give u better solution, respray yr car 5 year once if u really care bout the chip, do it 2 times which by then the car should reach 10 years old, then sell the car, chg car. much cheaper.

Waste of money.

If still want your car sparkling clean & shiny, after buy, leave it at the showroom forever. Don't drive.

I guess ppf is good if your paint is expensive.

Another alternative is to repaint the car. I’ve just got mine fully painted for less than RM2000. Car came out out shiny and spotless. No compromise on workmanship for that price

I did ppf front area for my wife x70. Basically I done coating full car first, then one week after, decided to add ppf cz that front bumper of x70 is huge and too inviting for stone chip.

After done the ppf, ask coating shop to top up the balance area of ppf to get coat. Look great and water repellent all. Obviously all not even half price of rm10k
