Hey all, I went to this amazing car painting workshop and decided to share it here. The workmanship was excellent and price for a full car repaint was below RM2000 only. The old uncle even touch up my black rims for free.

Uncle Soon is the owner of this tiny workshop that has been around for 40+ years. Like many businesses, his business suffered as well during this constant covid lockdown.

It’s in Segambut - Eu Soon Motor Workshop. Can’t find the shop in Google but it’s opposite Zender Motor Works. You can give him a call.

Thanks man. Yea below 2K for full exterior paint and coating. He sands the car first and then applies a base coat (primer I think?) before putting on the coloured paint and clear coating.

I think he could use the business now so the price should be negotiable

It’s really cheap, below 2k eh. Plus the workmanship is great.

I saw the paint brand is Aoto. Searched online and I think it’s a Malaysian brand. Had my doubts at first but when I saw the end result, it’s similar to the original Porsche grey colour. Really satisfied with it.

5 days. Quite fast since I was the only customer.

Was worried the paint wouldn’t dry well but it looks alright.

Dint ask about the clear coat brand but don’t expect anything fancy lor. I think he said around 3 to 4 coats. Can’t confirm.

This dude been in business for 40+ years and probably using some old school stuffs. He’s not up to date with his methods, no fancy oven dry process just a basic shop tucked in an alley

Yeah I can’t comment on how long the shine will last and the quality of the coat. It looks good at least for now.

I was contemplating to paint the car with Glasurit for RM6k with 5 year warranty at first but I would need to apply PPF and other forms of coating. That will add up to be so much. Since I don’t intend to keep this colour long so I’ve decided to go with this shop instead

Thanks TS. Even with Porsche also went to regular uncle shop. Will plan send my 7 years old Sedan car for repaint after all stone chip accumulated in front of the car plus here & there scratch.

Went ask one famous workshop in IG, quoted rm4.5k for normal repaint.

You can try asking him lor. Just bear in mind he’s old and more likely to apply traditional ways of painting

Welcome. I was honestly sceptical at first. Worried that they may ruin my car but I went with it after seeing how my friend’s car was painted. Really “peng leng zeng” - cheap and good.

He’s willing to nego on the price. He quoted me lower than 2k but I gave him a tip after the job is done

My workshop of 10years is just down the road from this uncle, I have 2 cars done painted by him already. Here is my opinion.

Workmanship is good and fast. Not to mention cheap as they hv been operating there for umpteen years so their ops fee is lower. However, if ur looking for super work that lasts for a million years or High quality premium grade paint pls look elsewhere. His core work is doing refurbishment for used car dealers. So it's good for first 1-2 years unless maybe u bring ur own paint but still no oven bake or modern tech.

Don't get me wrong. He is a nice and honest person but It took me few years before he actually wants to do my car (cos he knows i'm picky about detail)... i had to assure him i wasn't looking for super quality and it was bcos i wanted to sell my car only he was willing. LoL.

Pls go support him if ur looking for good workmanship with fast speed. But pls dont give him a hard time if ur looking for AAA lasting quality.

Oh yeah.... if ur worried about his capabilities, I hv seen a Ferrari there before. A merc SL500 coupe. And many times u can glimpse classic JDMs there too. So yeah, he is pretty capable in handling nice cars.

Good, support local business and honest uncles.

If you just need minor paint repair, can consider this Ah Soon too. I am sure he can do retouching work and so on.
