Nope the RM450 one in Pet Safari is Bigger. I did a rough calculation on the measurement he gave. The Pet Safari RM450 is way wider.

I'm talking about the Big Black one where they currently display those small colorful birds.

Not the one I bought or the other RM450 with yellow roof.

so darn cute..how do u guys overcome the pee smell?
*

I find that their pee don't normally smell.

Hamster pee is way different and worst.

Only their marking pee smells.

There's a difference between normal pee and marking pee.

The marking does smell and can stink like burning paper...

QUOTE(emino @ Feb 16 2008, 01:27 PM)
Weirdly enough, their pee doesnt smell. At all. I've been peed on many times now and it feels and smells like a clear water.

Yeah, normally it doesn't smell.

About the pee thing..... gliders do have 2 types of pee.... but with 1 glider, I don't think much marking is done. Teddy has not started marking yet..... his bald spot still not prominent yet. I've seen gliders mark their owners too, the males do it in such a cute way hhahah.
*

I remember before Iggy was neutered he used to mark other people when he hops onto them. One time he jumped onto one of my male colleague and I was quickly about to pick him up and my colleague said never mind he's cute when Iggy mark peed on him sweat.gif

He was like, "What the..."

Then he said never mind he'll go wash it... But unfortunately mark pee cannot just wash a bit on one spot, best is to wash the whole baju! After a few mins he was complaining about the smell and cannot tahan it that he had to change his shirt... doh.gif

Lucky he just went shopping during lunch time and wore the new shirt he bought immediately... laugh.gif

QUOTE(jitshiong @ Feb 18 2008, 11:30 AM)
If they r 7 weeks OOP then it's no longer a requirement to give them milk.
But u can feed them if they want it.
For the meal worms, u should break it n then feed it to them.
By 8th week they should be fully furred n the tail should be fluffy already.
That would mean they r weaned, else u need to give them milk.
*

Her case is different jitshiong, she got the joeys too young and they haven't gotten enough milk since.

A well and healthy joey will be fully furred by as little as 4 weeks OOP. The tails will start to poofed up at 5-6 weeks OOP and by 7-8 weeks will be really fluffed up.

But he joey is not a matter of that, he is not well before and was practically naked at even his age right now.

You can search back for some of the pixs then you'll understand.

Anyway, I have found a few eucalyptus trees at a park.... I dunno what is the name of the park but I do know that it is always full with people and kites on good weekends.... Hmmm.... gotta ask my dad about it. Anyway, if I have found out the place, anyone wanna go and get some branches? The trees are not really in the park but by the roadside, so I think we won't get chased or anything if we get a few branches...
*

Haha, I know that park, I pass by it everytime going to Ikano smile.gif

Saw it quite a while dy, but that area always lots of people cuz of the kite play and park...

Anyway, I've came across some nurseries selling eucalyptus tree actually. It was like 3-4 weeks ago when I was on my way to a cousins wedding in Denai Alam and had to pass by all the nurseries in Sg. Buloh...

Not all the nursery there got, just have to look closely at the trees there lor... If you know how eucalyptus tree looks like, you'll be able to spot it smile.gif

I was so excited when I saw some, but I couldn't stop by because I was all dressed up for a wedding and my car was full with my whole family sweat.gif

Dunno when am I able to go again cuz my husband is reluctant to go that area as he said it's very far... Unless any forumer here wanna go brows.gif

Received this months newsletter from Lisa of Suncoast and she shared about the passing of one her dearest glider Janine.

Janine passed away while in the pouch around her chest.

Tears fill my eyes and I could not help but cry cry.gif

I hope my suggies will live a long and healthy life and that I will still be by their side when they leave... But I can't pix the day I will have to let them go...

Guys, if we bring our suggies out at nite. not that late la...just like around 8 to 10...is it advisable to bring them in the pouch or wut? sumtimes they get active during that time, sumtimes they just sleep.
or issit better to just leave them in a familiar territory (cage/home) during these hours?
*

If you go out at 7 or 8 at night, then better not bring lar...

But if you are out from day time say till around 8-10 should be fine as long as they're in a pouch and not the type to struggle and wanna come out if they are awake.

If your suggies are that type, better not bring them out too late lar, pity them.

I know which one of my suggies can bring out till late and which one can't. For example Iggy is the type who'll stay in the pouch and just peep out the window if he's awake. If he sees that I'm on the move or outside (like mebbe a shopping mall) he'll just go back to sleep or sit quietly in the pouch... Unlike Luna, if she's awake, she wants out! If I don't let her out, she'll make a fuss such as pooping or peeing in the pouch doh.gif

If go there at night, sure no one at the park flying kites lah, then easier to take the branches hahahah....
*

Yeap, I know how the eucalyptus tree looks like by heart now tongue.gif

Every time I see trees, I will search for any possible signs of eucalyptus wink.gif

Haha, your dad like my husband lor, no patient when driving, he would definitely not stop at the park what with all those cars and people sweat.gif

Aiyah, we go ramai-ramai glider owners to Sg. Buloh lah... Each of us can bring home 1 tree tongue.gif Hehe.

Oh. Corncob as bedding... Interesting.
I'm using just plain old newspapers. Easier to throw out. And theres A wire seperator between the cage and the poo section, so Teddy never bermandi pee. Hehe.

Although I sometimes caught him cuba pancing any of his honeydews that jatuh ke bawah...  sweat.gif
*

I used to use Litter Star. Always have separator between the substrate and the gliders.

Now I just use newspaper cuz of the size of my cage. If use Litter Star or any other substrate sure die to fill the whole tray sweat.gif

Yeah, I always find my suggies fishing for the dropped fruits under the cage too doh.gif Macam tak ada food lain wanna fish for the dropped ones sweat.gif

QUOTE(malowie @ Feb 21 2008, 10:19 PM)
eucalyptus? u sure?

even if we can find eucalyptus trees in malaysia, it wouldnt grow well.. most probably it would be like very thin, elongated... but nevertheless, it would be worth the try planting them...in australia, i remember the last time i was trekking through the woods, sap just cant stop oozing out of the eucalyptus trees... be it day or night...

could it be taman tasik perdana?  biggrin.gif
*

Yes, it is eucalyptus smile.gif

Eucalyptus does have a few types and the ones growing here is only one type, the tall and quite skinny one smile.gif

The marvelous ones in Australia can easily be recognized by the oozing tree sap as well as the colorful tree bark. The ones here are not those type.

However, the type of eucalyptus we have here can grow easily and is used mainly for landscaping because of the wonderful dropping branches and leaves effect that sways harmoniously when the wind blows smile.gif

I've spotted it at few places already, UPM, Tasik Perdana, the lake along MRR2 heading to Sg. Buloh where it's famous for flying kites, some nurseries in Sg. Buloh, the forest along some roads in Perak heading to East Coast and latest is at someones garden near where I stay wink.gif

You can check with JTL, I'm sure you can work out which cage you want wink.gif

-----

Yesterday cleaned up both Iggy and Luna a bit. Iggy didn't like water and was struggling like mad! He bit me at like 4-5 places and it all bled cry.gif But I'm used to his attitude so much that I don't mind, he just have a way to express his dislike very clearly sweat.gif

After that, placed both of them in my shirt to keep them warm and also a way to pujuk Iggy tongue.gif He can easily be pujuk if I put him in my shirt brows.gif

Not even 30 seconds in my shirt, Iggy and Luna started chatting... Suddenly there's small barks, chatting and hissing coming from my shirt... And I'm in the office! doh.gif I was walking around with sounds coming out from my shirt... sweat.gif Dunno what lar both of them were talking, you bark, I bark, I hiss, you chat... Very funny and amusing to hear them so verbal...

Haha, so far all my suggies are quite verbal... Especially Iggy... He seems to always have something to say, even if it's something as soft as clicking wink.gif

Have you talked to your suggies today?

thx..

also, ciku branches can be used for gliders ah? cuz i have a huge one but dont dare to put in the cage yet. biggrin.gif

In t-shirt can, normally what you wear is breathable material.

Canvas bag NO.

Ciku branches I'm not sure, all I know is Hibiscus branches and Guava branches are safe if they have not been sprayed with pesticides before.

Speaking about eucaplyptus, there are a myriad of species of eucaplyptus..
What is the species most commonly found in this country, those at the roadside or park, and if anyone come across it, do snap a photo for us all..another thing is, do the encaplytus here have any sap? But it's not practical to be seen found stealing sap from the tree..

Added on February 22, 2008, 4:46 pm

KP, i can weld a roller support bottom for you, all you need to do is to give me the measurent of your cage..
I can give you a sample of picture if you want.
But it's not FOC la..basic cost you need to be responsible. smile.gif
*

I'm not sure if the eucalyptus we have here is the type that produces the sap or not because they are those skinny tall ones not the fat stumpy with colorful bark one smile.gif

Lemme look for a pix for you...

Ahh, can you quote me the basic cost first? Cuz I've scout around some "kayu" and rollers... Will cost me around RM40...

Rough outline - A gathering with current owner, future owner as well as interested public. Will discuss about the proper care, housing and diet. Q&A session. Will be giving out flyer and perhaps a goodie bag??? Will have a small display set up and selling some glider goods as well smile.gif Ohh and gonna try and get the press to do coverage!

Appreciate some feedbacks/thoughts about it and also need some volunteers to help and mebbe chip in some money if we wanna do goodie bags...

With my current tall cage pun, my suggies only make full use of the top half portion only...
