Hi there, I have walked in to digi center on Tuesday and requested to port in to DIGI from MAXIS. The staff help me to submit the request and gave me the sim card and ask me to wait for MAXIS confirmation sms within 48 hours. However until today I still didn’t receive any sms for MAXIS regarding the confirmation to leave. I have called to MAXIS and ask whether my account still have any outstanding or contract, answer is no. Digi did called this morning and say MAXIS rejected me for reason that one of my line is not in service/active, but i really feels that this is an excuse from MAXIS. My parents and I was using the phone to call or surf net and didn’t switch off either, it’s active for sure. Does it really takes that long to port out? I remember few years ago porting out from other TELCOS is quite fast which can be done within few hours. Anyone can advise on this matter?

i did that back in june, my advice is to go to maxis center, tell them you are proting out, asked them to issue what ever outstanding, if no, give you a clear letter, only then go to digi. sometime sup line can cause problems. just go to maxis 1st before digi.

Porting out from Maxis need to ensure all sim cards are active and reply No to the sms request. Maxis might even call or offer new contracts.

Example, I have 5 lines under Maxis previously and successfully ported out to U Mobile. All 5 lines were active on 5 phones. Eventually, the port out message arrived and I reply Yes to each phone.

After 5 mins or so, the old Maxis sim cards deactivated and the new U Mobile sim cards took over.

Then we need to explain to DiGi about this matter. DiGi is assuming we only have one (1) primary line without Subs. Hence, the MNP-o is rejected by Maxis becoz the 2 sub-lines disturb the process.

Nope, as long as all my sub is porting out together with my main line then will be no issue.

Errr...me never have issue when MNP-o from Maxis or Hotlink... never received any counter offer... just str8 get SMS confirmation from them to MNP-o on the same day...

Could be due to "selected" account or myKad....(?)

As far as me is concerned, me's myKad is very popular among all telcos... they scared to play dirty or else me's good friend MCMC will be Thanos to them... LOL...

prepaid should be no problem. but for expensive postpaid plan subscriber, they will most likely call ask why want to change telco and give some offer to stay with them.

I also porting out from Maxis to UMobile as not really happy with their coverage even with the higher price..still waiting for their message since yesterday. Already got a notification from UMobile saying pending from the current Telco since noon yesterday. Normally quite fast based on my previous experience Celcom > Maxis.

I had this experience porting out from Celcom to Maxis (yes, i understand yours' is Maxis to Digi).

I wanted to port out 1 primary + 1 supplementary to join existing account on the receiving side. First time doing it as prim+supl, and all the while I am under impression it is always done as 1 application.

The maxis guy did it in front of me, and settling all the sign-offs, only then he informed me that he actually submitted 2 separate MNP applications for the 2 lines instead and not as 1. Then he told me that I then need to split the lines on donor Celcom side ASAP.

End up I incur a bit of loss as splitting the lines mean I had to spend on RM45/mth (suppl) + additional RM/days of it as a standalone account.

Port out/in was without hiccup as we are ready for the confirmation SMSes from Celcom, but the way Maxis staff submitted it left a distaste.
