Are they removing the hotlink pantas long validity pass?
If they remove Pantas plan or long validity, I will surely jump to Unifi Mobile since 4G and 2G are now using maxis network. Even though I am Hotlink agent
i am talking about maxis center lah here.. i suspect the staff(s) at maxis center wants to earn extra commission for registering/mnp postpaid. so that is why they give stupid excuses & dont allow port into prepaid.
here is my porting story:
1) went to maxis centre batu pahat. met an old lady staff. she said that i must port into maxis postpaid for 6 months and after that only i can switch to hotlink prepaid. i just walked away & left.
2) went again to the same maxis centre batu pahat a few days later. met a young man staff. no problem requesting to port into hotlink prepaid with him and get a sim card. a few days later my current operator (at that time) reject the port out and the maxis system cancelled my port in process. cannot ask for resubmit. have to go again and apply for new mnp and get new sim card.
3) since i am going to nilai for other commitment, that why i went to klia2 maxis center. no problem requesting to port into hotlink prepaid and get a sim card. the next day port in successful. i dont want to go to maxis centre batu pahat anymore because i might met rogue staffs again.
as a conclusion, you could go to the same maxis centre at different day & different time and meet with different staff that will allow you to port into prepaid.
If dealership it is high likely as agent entitle 6% cut monthly for hotlink postpaid. Prepaid is only one-off
Went to maxis center Greentown Ipoh last year to port in celcom prepaid to pantas, the counter girl said can't port in to hotlink prepaid, must port in hotlink postpaid, then I said I saw from the Internet can port in hotlink prepaid and asked her to give me no giliran, the counter girl just gave me the no giliran. after that when was my turn , walked into the relevant counter, that person straight away helped me to port in pantas without any charges.
Before this walked in maxis center ( I think not really center, just official store) inside aoen Ipoh, that girl said can't port in pantas because no more empty simcard for pantas, can only buy the store readily available pantas simcard with number.
That was one year ago.
They tried to reserve the blank sim for postpaid customer. It cost us agent rm 5
I am an agent, that is the cost dealership charge us, the blank sim can be use for postpaid registration, MNP and sim replacement. For prepaid there is different pack on that. I assume the center would want to preserve the stock there.

wanna port yoodo to hotlink prepaid but die2 they said must select postpaid for 6 months then baru can downgrade o prepaid
No such thing, hotlink dealer app can port you in from other telco to prepaid no need to go for postpaid first, just need blank sim. They kelentong only want to upsell and hit KPI

not sure if not allowed though etc. need to read further. in fact i think allowed to charge for blank simcard, even mnp service is chargeable up to rm25
Blank sim cost only rm 5, the rest is up to dealership or agent to charge you. Heck I do it free for friend and family who wish to port in to Hotlink postpaid
I would have done it online if I could. Numbers under MVNO cant get TAC. Of course, I ported 2 numbers successfully even with dealers when Pantas was introduced. Just need to pay RM10 and even that was all reloaded into the new sim.
I think Maxis probably introduced some sort of incentives or whatever that forced these center or dealers to behave this way.
Of course la, for Hotlink, there is recurring incentive 6% monthly should we able to get customer subscribe under postpaid, while prepaid just one off, so that is why it is not preferred choice among dealer and agent, most of them would reserve blank sim stock for postpaid
Some are dealers some are real maxis center. Dealers cannot fix all the issues.
Correct, some shop with green Maxis logo are not even maxis center, it is dealership. I know based on my experience, went there to fix my issue, then they pop up the dealer app which same one I have access and use. Obviously they cant help with my issue. Been there and done that

Originally pantas was designed for very minimal usage with minimal dataplan needed but nowadays the line between pantas plan and unlimited plan has been really blurry. Highspeed plan that usually aren't offered on pantas has been available too. I've been consistently getting the rm45/30 days for 900gb including hotspot and unlimited call offer for 5 months straight now on my pantas sim. Pantas still suitable for minimal usage with the rm2/1gb with 1 year validity for the 1gb. I usually finish my 1gb in 2-3 months since 99% always got wifi.
Correct, there are market out there that required very minimal usage, I for example need just need credit for emergency call where whatsapp call failed, thus RM 10 per month credit also cannot finish. Already got Maxis Home 5G sim for data usage in router at home or as portable hotspot when outside. Most of the time cash out balance credit as grabfood voucher.
there have been reports of widespread ādump dumpā diseases around telco SA at the front line, it solely depends on luck of which ādump dumpā ness one will encounter:
dump 1: no stock, canāt do it dump 2: there is no such things as esim dump 3: prepaid doesnāt offer eism, you must sign up postpaid
All three are classified as serious ādumpā affected patient atm š·š·š·
I got dump 3 answer last time, so I opened below link and ask the staff to read it slowly and clearly, only then she went inside and took e-sim package to convert my prepaid sim
Atuk Yeoh Tiong Lay's eSIM implementation is the best... can change devices unlimitedly for free within 2 minutes process... no need QR code to activate eSIM...
Not to mentioned can setup call forward features from app
