Finding a laptop to bring to Australia for the first few months, need it to survive quarantine and first few months there
1. Budget : Around 3k/3k-ish will be best, but ok to go beyond if the display is beautiful enough (I don't think can get any IPS screens at this level kan, it's okay) 2. Usage : General usage, music, videos, absolutely 0 gaming at all 3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : Whenever possible, to have the best screen/sound quality, lightweight, and have good battery life as possibly can at this price range Edited to up budget abit, to 3k/3k-ih This post has been edited by Screen: Oct 3 2021, 04:53 PM |

Im not sure if cyber security requires gpu for 3d modelling or whatever. Appreciate if anyone in the field can advice. Otherwise, budget 3-5k, or if gpu is needed 6k ish. Not too heavyand have decent battery life to bring to college. |

Just a benchmark for modern games I guesscan consider Magicbook 14 AMD 512GB if want run higher settings on cyberpunk then increase budget for better GPU...even 3050 also won't run smooth unless u use super low settings or DLSS replied u in another thread (pls dun double post on both threads) got 3080 under RM10k, Legion 7 or 7i with coupons |

Hi, need recommendation for laptop...
1. Budget: Below 3k, can stretch up to max 3.8k if worth 2. Usage: For exam (need Microsoft Excel + view file in pdf), web-browsing (multiple tabs at a time), watch videos/dramas, 0 gaming for now 3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc): - Long-life (important, plan to use for long time), cannot tolerate laptop that heats up fast - Must be able to use wifi 6, bluetooth, mic & webcam - Best to have numpad for exam, good screen & sound quality for video/drama - RAM: Preferably 16GB, min 8GB - Battery life & weight: Flexible, but preferably good battery life & light weight (mainly use at home, seldom bring it around - maybe once a month) - Screen size: 13 inch to 15.6 inch - Wait time: Best to get by end of Oct2021, latest by end of Dec2021 If possible, can I have a few options to consider...? BIGGG thanks! |

Hiii to sifus here, need some recommendation here...
1. Budget: Around 3.5k, max 4k 2. Usage: Coding, some unity stuff (light), web browsing, Gaming (Maybe low/med on Horizon Forbidden West/Diablo 2 Resurrected, personal prefer stable 60fps, no need high high graphics) 3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc): - Long-life. - RAM: Prefer 16GB. - Battery life & weight: Flexible, but preferably good battery life & light weight (seldom bring around tho) - Screen size: 13 inch to 15.6 inch - Wait time: No rush. Actually, was aiming Lenovo Ideapad Gaming with GTX1650, this kinda suit my needed. But recently browsed this: https://shopee.com.my/Acer-Nitro-5-AN515-57...9818?position=6 just add few hundred more can get RTX3050Ti.. does it worth? Initially budget RM3k, but seem 3k not possible to get dedicated GPU (exclude MX series tho). So push budget to 3.5k. This post has been edited by Jackwei94: Oct 4 2021, 01:29 PM |

I wanted to buy Lenovo laptop BUT after seeing the review from the existing Lenovo users at their official page, I need to rethink whether should I stick to Lenovo. Apparently, the three main issues of Lenovo are: a) Camera issue; b) Poor customer service; c) Slow delivery which could take up to 16 weeks! Is anyone there can share their experience in using Lenovo here? I would appreciate your honest feedback so that I could make a decision whether to buy or not. By the way, I am thinking to buy Ideapad Slim 5 or Yoga Slim 7 for my children. Hope the sifus here can give me their advice. Thanks. ![]() This post has been edited by kinggerrard: Oct 4 2021, 03:09 PM |

QUOTE(kinggerrard @ Oct 4 2021, 03:08 PM) 1. Most laptop built in camera sucks2. Their onsite is ok though nothing spectacular, better than having carry in 3. Delivery time depends on model, if u can't wait long then don't buy (the first few estimated dates are placeholder dates in the system so no need to take it seriously) This post has been edited by ZM Fong: Oct 4 2021, 05:07 PM |
