that's what resellers job for ODM laptops...clevo, tongfang, quanta, just to name a few

nothing bad, most laptop brands also sub to other ODMs (eg lenovo: lcfc+compal, dell: quanta - not for every models)

1st generation Illegear Onyx user here. My 3 year old Onyx has 2 problems:

1. Upper slot 2400mhz Ram kong and can't boot, Illegear replaced it on the spot and provided a free upgrade to 2666mhz.

2. Webcam after 2 years kaput, they pickup, replaced it and deliver back to me in 3 days.

Overall I am satisfied with their product and service provided.

Hi, looking for laptop for office type work (no need dgpu). Priority would be able to last long (build quality) as well as good battery life. 14-15 inch, budget RM3k. I saw from the ultrabook thread there's ideapad 5 and Acer swift 3, so something along those lines but whichever can possibly last the longest (for older person to use so don't want to have to replace it anytime soon)
