QUOTE(jVIPERs2 @ Sep 11 2007, 11:48 AM) Yeah...that might happen... But since the model is to replace WIra, shouldn't they release the sedan 1st then oni the sportier aeroback? a wrong strategy i should say. supposedly a more practical version should be released first, before coming up with a different version.

if you take off the extractor, how the exhaust system will work?
it seems that a lot of ppl in this forum still don't get the idea of swapping extractors/headers.
Here's some things that you migt want to think of before modifying your exhaust.
1. Almost all newer cars nowadays comes with 4-2-1 extractors. It provides the best balanced power, which is usable low end torque, and to help push higher top speed. There is pointless if you want to buy some generic or no-name-brand extractor off the normal shops simply because it bears the 4-2-1 design. Those are nothing more than cosmetics, or worse, they have no proper design, not tuned to guarantee power increase, false power claims, and may cause power loss.
2. Bullets never increase torque or horsepower. It may alter the power curve, but it WILL NOT ADD max power. Adding more bullets will increase restriction to the exhaust gas flow. This is a fact.
3. Modifying exhaust to a spec which can put out better flow will never reduce fuel consumption. If you want to reduce fuel consumption, you can put restriction to the exhaust so that acceleration will be less, and power will significantly drop as well. Theory is simple, more input = more output.

Replacing the cat will possibly reduce restriction to the exhaust gas flow, and eventually will increase power a bit. But some cars will have O2 sensor near/at the cat, I'm not sure about Persona/Gen2 though... maybe not.

Don't forget to redline the engine once in a while. Driving like a pussy wont help the engine 'running'.

As mentioned many times, front brakes are more important because power is transfered to the front wheels, and for front wheel drive, power distribution is all on the front. Rear brakes are just to assist e-braking, that's all.
Rear brake disc performance is more significant if it was rear wheel drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle.
