Went to the accesories shop recommended for glass tint, the boss honestly told me most of his customers are Non national car owners.. I noticed the Boot is dangerous, it will close and slam downautomatically while hanging halfway spotted quite few Solid White Persona already..but none in Penang island. One s.white PHL 44xx at Alor Setar..parked besides the White police car..not sure whether it is a Police car.because i saw the Red color strip...!! auto trans persona 1st gear revving is good, press the pedal slightly harder, shift at 5-6.5k rpm.
But the campro engine Rpm is quite high for 1.6(auto).. i get Silverstone Kruizer NS500, trade in also not much value... This post has been edited by ralf: Oct 7 2007, 12:11 PM |

Added on October 8, 2007, 3:29 pm QUOTE(soulfly @ Oct 7 2007, 07:11 PM) Those cheap continental comfort, goodyear nct and silverstone nct are almost the same!Added on October 8, 2007, 3:44 pm QUOTE(BudoKid2002 @ Oct 8 2007, 11:19 AM) hi all another testimony from me. just for sharing. Nice review! I like your words.. my wifes car is baseline auto. just change metal rim to gen2 sport rim. i really must say theres a difference between rim besi and alloy in ride feel. i know, it could be psychological thing but fact it is lighter, softer on bumps and holes (or maybe air pressure been reduced? dunno) but overall im happy with it. im using the gen2 bunga raya rim type. alot of people ask me why i pick this rim. answer is simple, standard, cheap, better than rim besi. the tyres i got is goodyear nct. yes, i like it but the only drawback like somebody said is when do a slow cornering or u-turn, got sound a bit. talk about u turn, road near my house requires me to do quiet narrow u-turn, so everyday i will take that uturn. but till today i still can get a perfect u turn without reversing). i can do it with other car, even merc can do 1 perfect turn. but merc, of course la, point is most car can do it. if they take 1 side a bit before turning. moving on, the rear view mirrow. from reading the manual now i know that handle flip is meant for anti light glare during night. move it towards you to have anti glare, move back for normal daylight. i also notice the mirror reflection is blur intermittently due to vibration. later i found out, my radio is too loud, and the bass is causing that slight vibration. hahaha. steering, like most people complain say its too plastic and hard. i think its decent enough by European standard for normal basic cars. my previous renault steering is also having similar material. seats? the seats are great arent they? not too hard like waja, and not too soft as you want to use it for 10 years. baseline dont have adjustable height driver seats, and folding rear seats. but i figured, less is more. besides, its comfortable enough, ive had height adjustable seats before, and it breaks in 5-7 years. hmm, what else, bought hp travel charger, plug it in and its working. great. after nearly a week driving, still not used to parking especially rear. side mirror is too small, yes. about the engine, now i know its a rev happy engine. couple with that tranny, i find it hard to keep myself from not speeding on highway. the extreme hot hood is gone, the burnt smell is gone, my aircond is set to middle, which is 25c i think, does not ON the fan and compressor quite often now. i find the temperature is cold enough for front and back passanger, with tinting of course. for fast cooling effect, during initial startup, i use recycle and top air direction. the boot? yes the boot. it can fit four 15 inch metal rims, FLAT without stacking. marvelous. the sound for remote locking is classy and exclusive (i hope). unlike the one in waja you have this irritating "chuut!-chuut!" sound. the alarm itself is horn based which can be pretty loud and embarrassing but isnt all alarm is? the brakes, like i said before its a bit soft. but yesterday i had to do some emergency braking during high speed. not till stationary but i had to apply brake hard. and its comforting to know that it is good. the more importing thing is, i have good level of control on the car when braking. even though its not rear disc, abs and ebd, its still manageable. those who need abs and ebd is either a lady or Micheal Schumacher i think. overall, general satisfaction is high for this car. its really value for money. and its simply the best car i can get with that price tag. i just want to tell everybody how great this car is. and actually, i feel kinda sorry for those who bought myvi. i just cant imagine how its like doing corners on long journey with that car. and the interior build quality is nothing to shout about. maybe the engine is good. i also feel lucky my wife didnt buy city or vios. yes, FC is good but my goodness the body shell?? its nearly twice the price and i simply think its not worth it. those who bought city/vios must be thinking they are getting civic/altis or maybe camry. yes when comparing to persona, off course civic/altis/camry win hands down. but when compare to city/vios along with price factor, it is way sensible buy. lastly, congratulation to everybody. "even though its not rear disc, abs and ebd, its still manageable. those who need abs and ebd is either a lady or Micheal Schumacher i think." Honestly speaking, the brake is abit soft for rear drum set up, such as heavy car should equip with rear disc.. This post has been edited by ralf: Oct 8 2007, 03:44 PM |

QUOTE(soulfly @ Oct 8 2007, 05:31 PM) the soft brake is not because of the rear drum, because the rear brakes are only contributing to less than 20% of the whole braking power and also for parking brake. it could be the front brake pads still not makan yet. maybe...need to wait for another 1k km..If braking still no improve after that, then i suggest all future owners go for H-Line, abs, ebd..abc, bas..bla bla accesories |

QUOTE(FlamingFox @ Oct 10 2007, 09:57 AM) My dad just got his Persona (irridecent white BL) yesterday, which was my birthday (too bad not my birthday present It's faster than Wira 1.5(M) and 1.5(A) for sure..1.5manual is no match to 1.6auto persona... Took it for a little test drive around TTDI ... compared to my Wira 1.5, the pros and cons: Pros - Better quality interior - More spacious - Quiet engine - Accelerates quite fast (not sure my Wira or Persona faster) - Strong aircond (and aircond can blow at feet) - Safety features (move to D, car doors straightaway lock) - Larger boot Cons - Takes a while for me to get used to left hand signalling - Can't really see behind (less rear visibility) - Side mirrors too small (better put some blindspot mirror or something) - Soft braking (takes a while to get used to) - Reverse sensor and signal kinda soft (as in the sound) Temporary/useless cons - Cannot open window til Friday, got tint - Too long and wide for me (a bit hard to parallel park) - No. plate got no 8 at all, and didn't manage to get WQQ Overall, it's a much better car than the Wira ... but it's still new and only have a meter reading of about 50-60kms so far ... And I'm still 'P' lesson btw ... din put the 'P' sticker on it ... I broke the road laws for let's say 30 mins! yesterday midnite top @165kmh along BayanLepas flyover lhighway(from jalan tengah to sgdua bus teminal)..speedlimit is only 80kmh..Ok ok, the road is Clear of traffic..midnite already..overtook 1 SatriaNeo along the 4-5km long strecth 140km/h rpm is 3.8-4k rpm, can't remember..concentrate on driving..oops @160kmh, the ride is better than Vios ! QUOTE(FlamingFox @ Oct 10 2007, 10:35 PM) Compared to my Wira again ah ... Got difference! but it minimal...unlike those german monster with 2xx horsepower..there's no difference. When Wira off aircond and accelerate, quite fast Got difference in acceleration for Persona or not if off aircond? Driving downhill, anyone notice the rpm sudden jump to 2.8k -3k rpm before it goes back to normal, engine braking or kickdown by itself?? |

QUOTE(dzariq @ Oct 11 2007, 10:36 AM) Ralf...yeap...got rattling right?...so i guess its not becoz of my 16 inch tyres...the sound is from inside the hood...a slight rattling sound when turning to the left...it sound like a drive shaft...like my old satria has...when turn right..got a huge rattling sound... Yeap, got noise..something like wheel scratching wheel arch..or driveshaft noise..dunno..have to check first.anybody else got this issue?...my car also got a slight off alignment to the left...not sure coz of tyre or car... but nevertheless...its a slight issue...perhaps just wait for the 1k service...another 400km to go... im very satisfied with the car handling...can turn fast with confident...hehe.. Did my car detailing today..30minutes car wash, another half an hour for drying. Spend 15minutes to remove some swirl marks and polish, 2hours for waxing.
There are scratches on the door sidestep area because of dirty shoes that cannot be remove by ColorX, so i use Step2 polisher to polish it. products use: Meguiars NXT Tech Wax, Meguiars ColorX, Meguiars Step2 polisher, Meguiars ScratchX and microfiber towel.. No more raining water marks, swirl marks and fine scatches, i m so happy with the end result. Going to purchase the Meguiars Clay, it really works..
