dotter has been admitted to SJMC since this afternoon .. admission is for the tests .. blood test urine test temperature monitoring .. 3 main things they are looking for at the moment .. will know results in a couple of days ..

now at home packing stuff required for mum and dotter stay at SJMC .. food la clothes la etc etc .. will be going to SJMC again in a short while ..

Thank God.. but denggi also considered danger although much much more understandable compared to kawasaki.. ask your dotter to drink lots of water (100 plus perhaps) and careful not to get 2nd time as it upgraded to denggi berdarah edi..

Getting a el-cheapo set is the right way to start this fishing hobby. Reason is simple, you dont have to spend more to find out if your interest is there. If there's no interest, then you might just lose some minor $$

Suggest that you get a 6 feet or longer fishing rod so that you can cast further. As for baits, i'm not sure. I'm a lure guy..

JM blanks are made in Taiwan, famous for it's jigging and parabolic curve ability.
Xzoga blanks are made in China, was manipulated by Johorean company that it's from Japan or using Japan technology. Same spec as above.

Both blank is good.

Suggest, for a starter in jigging. Do not get the expensive ones.. If possible get Abu Conolon PE2~5 @ RM200 for a starter. Then get a nominal reel for it - perhaps FreamsJ @ Rm330. Then fill the reel with 30lb JigMan X4 line @ RM100 for 300m. Get about 10 40~80 grams jig. Any brand, any shape. That will set you back for RM150 for jigs.

Jigging is simple. The only connectivity between the angler and the fish is the JIG. It got nothing to do with rod and reel. If the presentation of the jig is right, fish will strike! It does not matter if you are holding a JM rod or XZ ultimate rods..
