yup. cause 8600gt is 128bit...
There is a void between 8600gt and 8800gts. Pockets not deep, therefore I chose 8600gt

arghh... cant seem to pass 30mins of atitool's artifact test with memory speeds above 1015. Max I can go is 740/1015.
1020 fails artifact test but can loop 3dmark06 20 times

well i'm assuming overclocking the core produces more improvement than memory. And also, although rivatuner says 742, the background monitoring shows as 729. Setting it to 743 causes it to jump to 756.

ramsink attach to memory, since u say at high reso +AA it benefits. Cause I cant seem to get the mem speeds higher than 1025. The wierd thing abt atitool artifact test is even though the words there say no errors, the logfile balloons and is filled with "artifact detected" logs.

well, the oc speeds only kick in when game is loaded. I think I should just stick with my current speeds. Time to get my mind off this and head back to the books!!

reading [H]'s article on World of Conflict, ATI's card performed kinda badly when AA was used. so u saying the gpu cant utilize the 512-bit memory bus is kinda flaky.
