QUOTE(Zakumo @ Sep 20 2007, 08:37 PM) such a bad suggestion, That's not a bad suggestion.blow directly to it, and blow dust directly to it........ nt agree with this You choose to buy silent HSF, thus, you'd have to stand with the so called "silence but freaking hot". There's no way to deal with them except two. Find a fan to blow into it. [Yes, dust will go directly to them] Change the stupid silent HSF. [Dust will still go to them] There's no other way for it. You don't want dust? Don't change anything then. Just use the silent HSF without any help from any fans. |

Dude, try increasing the GPU clock speed to 760MHz & Mem to 1150 [2300MHz] and see what happens next. If i could reach that speed on my 8600GT test unit, i believe you can reach there too. |

It seems that nVidia has stopped the support for G80 cards.
There's no more driver update for 8800GTS 320MB, 8800GTS 640MB, 8800GTX, 8800Ultra, 8800GT, 8800GTS 512MB, 8600GTS, 8600GT, 8500GT & 8400GS. This post has been edited by sHawTY: Apr 5 2008, 06:28 PM |

QUOTE(aidlover @ Apr 5 2008, 07:40 PM) realy? impossible no updates QUOTE(5564321 @ Apr 5 2008, 11:46 PM) impossible...they just release their 9000series no long time ago, impossible for them to stop support it since there are many 8000 series card user around the world... Impossible?I LOL'ed. Go to nVidia driver download website and see if you can find driver update for those graphic cards i've listed above. The last nVidia driver updates for those graphic cards i've listed above is Forceware 169.25 which were released December 20, 2007. And look at the date now, it's 5th March 2008. The latest Forceware release is only made for GeForce 9800GX2, 9800GTX, 9600GT, 8300, 8200, 8100. Try downloading them and install them on your system that uses either one of this card below and see if you can pass the installation. 8800GTS 320MB, 8800GTS 640MB, 8800GTX, 8800Ultra, 8800GT, 8800GTS 512MB, 8600GTS, 8600GT, 8500GT & 8400GS. QUOTE(PGV3910 @ Apr 6 2008, 02:42 AM) so..which the latest 8 series driver?especially for 8800gt? They are using the 174.74 BETA driver, not the WHQL driver.i see some ppl show benchmark wif 174.74 driver with their 8800gt..but me even can't install it pls help me ya all sifu2 There's two version of Forceware 174.74. It's Forceware 174.74 WHQL [Official release] & Forceware 174.74 BETA [Tester, still under experiment]. I know why they removed the support of 8800GTS 320MB, 8800GTS 640MB, 8800GTX, 8800Ultra, 8800GT, 8800GTS 512MB, 8600GTS, 8600GT, 8500GT & 8400GS in Forceware 174.74 WHQL. Obviously they do that because they want to push the market for 9XXX series. |

QUOTE(PGV3910 @ Apr 6 2008, 03:13 AM) c'mon Shawty bro...Dun wanna try Bioshock 2 ka?? Nahh, later.I'm going to concentrate with the opening of my shop first. Once it goes stable, then i'll go with it. Owh wait, no. I will only be back with PC when graphic card manufacturers have engineered real dual core GPU on a graphic card. Not like right now which they just put two GPU on one graphic card. |

QUOTE(PGV3910 @ Apr 6 2008, 03:24 AM) real dual core gpu means like 7950GX2 is it? 7950GX2 is not real dual core.7950GX2 is 2 units of 7950 connected together. What i meant by real dual core is like the Intel Core2Duo processor or AMD Athlon X2 which is two cores in one processor. 7950GX2 is two card connected together and it use only one PCI-E X16 slot. 9800GX2 & HD3870X2 is two processor in one card. QUOTE(suicideroach @ Apr 6 2008, 05:34 PM) bro, i think 9800GX2 and 7950GX2 is similar in terms of two card connected together. Unlike HD3870X2 which really put 2 gpus in 1 card. If you open the 9800GX2 outer case, u will notice there are 2 cards also QUOTE(akachester @ Apr 6 2008, 05:59 PM) Yes, you are right. The 9800GX2 is almost the same as the 7950GX2 but instead of needing 2 HSF, Nvidia basically stack 2 cards to use only 1 HSF. So, its still basically 2 cards with 2 GPUs. I see.My mistake then. Haven't really looked into the 9800GX2, so i don't really know. So the 9800GX2 is the same as it's predecessor lar? |

QUOTE(aidlover @ Apr 8 2008, 06:08 PM) check with guru3d. the only difference in the new driver is that 9series receive the WHQL status while the 8series still in beta. its the same driver though I LOL'ed.Try installing 174.74 WHQL driver on a system that uses 8800 series, let's see either you can actually install it or not. You can only use the 174.74 BETA driver on 8800 series. Not the 174.74 WHQL. |
