 shopee cancel order

u order, suddenly seller told u that item not available. it is out of stock

now heres the issue
should seller cancel the order
or
buyer cancel the order

actually the seller can cancel their order by saying out of stock
but some seller insists that buyer cancel the order which i find rather fishy. they dont want to cancel the order even though it is their fault

is there any reason why seller dont want to cancel order?

what risk on buyer? u get back credit on later time, dont get the item, wasted time for few more clicks. thats all i think

happens to me the other day

put an order for my kid's swimming pool. waited few days for seller to actually ship the pool. on the last day of shopee guarantee limit, seller whatsapp me and ask me to cancel the order because no stock. even have the gut to say i'm the one who should do the cancellation instead of him or I wont get my money back laugh.gif

i straight tiaw him says that is his issue not mine so he's the one should initiate the cancellation. terus diam dia laugh.gif

Happened few times, seller didn’t comply to shipping deadline then order auto cancel n refunded

they dun wan cancel coz it will affect their store statistics maybe?

Got criteria to be preferred seller or something, can't really remember but shopee experts should know this

Seller should cancel at their end if they cannot ship. If they request you to cancel, and if you report to Shopee, they can incur penalty. If you cancel, your buyer rating is affected.
I have had a few times the seller ask me to cancel. I in turn ask them to do the cancellation. Eventually the seller will cancel or Shopee auto cancel in their system.

I'm starting to dislike Shopee. I find their cancellation system flawed. It says orders will be automatically cancelled if it's not shipped before the due date but it didn't for my order.

You want refund faster, you can cancel and add the reason as seller ask you to cancel.

i once chat with shopee to clarify this bcos i refuse to cancel order when they are the one who no stocks

shopee agent told me seller at no point can request buyer to cancel

so shopee ask me cancel it so shopee refund me immediately in order to shop with other seller

they will penalize the seller.

i screenshot kasi seller tengok. seller block 9 me after that lol

That one only on returns/refund request.
If seller hasn't ship the item out you cancel because use wrong coupons also can.

So far no stock or didn't receive partial item , I ask for refund then dapat.

Once I tersilap order and ask for cancellation immediately but didn't approve and seller just ship it anyway.

Look up on one of my angry complain here 2-3 months back.

I complain to shopee, no let go all the way.

At first they say normal refund takes few weeks I continue to complain and say they roll my money until they refund back immediately.

After that never buy from Shopee again.

And in any conversation with friends about online shopping, I will criticize them all the way and never recommend them

no risk on buyer. unlike grab, shopee will not ban or bar your account (buyer) if you cancel orders frequently. however, if seller cancels an order, they'll get penalty points.

When my order got auto cancelled I got the refund back in 30mins along with the used coins. But that is system auto cancel refund.



I have been asked by seller to cancel the order before.. I told them if you sell something with no stock, either you give me something else similar (or different colour) with a discount or just cancel. Seller eventually reluctantly cancelled, and shopee refunded the money within the week.

Lost shipping or missing item refund also about a week. Happened 3 times. One time POS laju lost my package, 2 times missing item from package. One time seller processed the refund, other time shopee did because seller no response.


The only thing is I burn my free shipping and cashback voucher. Don't get those back which I think should be, especially if buy shopping pass.

Sell cancellation rating is shown on the website and will affect buyers in the future. That particular seller probably has a very high cancellation rate already so kecut lor. Next time don't buy from this kind of seller lah.

A seller once asked me to cancel (very politely and apologetically). He had expected his stock to arrive over the weekend but it didn't happen. I had bought from him twice b4 and it went smoothly, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and cancelled. A week later he messaged me to inform that stock was available; I bought and to my surprise I got a free gift when I opened the package smile.gif

Mine hasn't. I suspect if a seller schedules a pickup/dropoff, it freezes the auto cancel even if the item hasn't been shipped past the deadline.

That's the main problem we are complaining.

Why Shopee let their seller put up available qty xxx and then ask us to cancel bcos no stock. They return the $$$ to you 1 week later, do you know total how many buyers $$$ they are holding w/o anything to sell?

My case, when the seller said no stock, I told them in shopee they still display with stock available, i told them I dont mind they ship a few days late as I can wait. But they argue still want me to cancel which I escalate to shopee. And this shopee just standard reply if no deliver after xx days, will refund. I scold them kau-kau and ask for the manager then only they refund straight away.

btw I never encounter this problem with lazada. Same seller I saw shopee stock available 50 but lazada said no stock.

Now I dont buy from shopee
