probably not
probably too much caffeine just faks up my sleep. rclxub.gif
logger doesnt indicate any drop in SPO2 and after cutting more caffeine i have more well-rested nights than before.

I did not measure my sleep spo2 , did not go for sleep test. But I recorded my snoring via apps, yes I hv heavy snoring dam. I suspect I hv sleep apnea. Cpap is really a cure for snoring and sleep apnea. Works very well with me.

Rmbr wrongly it's actually honor band
Like Stirling I was paranoid that I had OSA then I bought this as a cheap screening tool for OSA altho I know medically it's not recognized. Kekkk. The real polysomnography test costs a lot.

Have u ever wonder why u can find a lot of cap ayam with fake 'FDA' online at RM 18.90 when legit medical brand like medisana & rossmaxx selling at up to  RM400?
*
The components cost is actually cheap

The concept is just led light with some circuit board covered with plastics. No other special expensive sensors. Definitely can mass produce for cheap if your company not profit driven

However the accuracy is the real problem. No name brand got no reputation. You can't simply trust their accuracy and you can't test their accuracy. Named brand care about reputation so they make sure their products really works. They also pay others regulatory body to test and certificate their products. People also trust their brand and willing to pay more

Check out this youtuber he use expensive equipment to check the accuracy of fitness tracker. Maybe if it will be helpful if you want to know the accuracy of your fitness tracker, but he don't test cheap oximeter

Accuracy should be similar/better than those

Lower

Oximeter use infra red light, one side beam thru finger and capture on the other side

Smartphones that beam white light and measure from camera very poor accuracy. Samsung use red light slightly better only..

Then smartwatches beam on wrist instead of finger also poor

Those cheap mass oximeter may have reliability issues but its accuracy is likely much better than phones

So if wana grade them

A- medical oximeter
B- reputable oximeter (medisana etc)
C- mass oximeter (china made etc)
D- smartphone red light
E- smartphone white light/ smartwatches

You have any recommendations for C? Feel like buying one. Currently have D/E quality oximeter don't think it accurate at all.

to be honest i highly doubt those writst-based oximeter like apple watch, smart bands etc

but got some hardcore fans says if apple says it accurate means it accurate and reliable

i thought i was the only one lol
See price of overnight sleep test + need to take day off
vs see price of Honor Band 5 or some SPO2 meter with overnight log
end up take the Honor Band, still useful as HR tracker, SPO2 sensor only detect during time of activation only, no tracker + not really good accuracy.
since was still worried about OSA, end up bought that Contec SPO2 tracker anyway. in the end probably not OSA, probably just caffeine induced insomnia + very rowdy neighbour 🤣
