For those who can make a report, please do it. Or else they are not gonna think this is a serious issue.

We need a template for people to use for their MCMC complaints that points to this very problem which is clear enough that TM has no leeway to lay blame on the users as they always do (and hassle both their customers and employees with needless house visits - something we could really do without during this pandemic).

Guess it should include a "no, I do not wish to receive unexpected houseguests" disclaimer, a checklist of "I have done this, this and that to signify there is nothing wrong on my end" and the heart of the report, a table with times of day and latency/traceroute results (with a list of additional/recommended "important" hosts to ping for parity across all reports).

<rant>So far my experience with two decades of hotline reports and MCMC complaints for bad routing all ends up with me serving the technicians drinks while we sit around the computer doing absolutely nothing until a senior staffer lets drop the "let's swap your port", which does absolutely nothing. I have no idea how TM works but I guess people at their paygrade have no way to escalate and tell the NOC guys they f-ed up hard.</rant>

Ping to Singapore at 9-11pm seems to have "improved", but routing to Japan has gone to hell.

For those having extremely slow speeds with (Amazon) CloudFront servers, try switching DNS. Cisco OpenDNS results give Australia - speeds slower than 56k. Tried Quad9 and got Singapore instead.

Bandwidth to Japan still as bad as when I posted that last speedtest image. At least they "fixed" the crazy high latency from then.

Still very much unusable during peak hours.

Edit: Slip of the finger.

if cloudflare cdn there is no way to change region base on DNS because it was anycast IP.

My mistake. I meant to say (Amazon) CloudFront not Cloudflare.

Beat me to the post. Was in the middle of playing a game when the ping shot up to 1k.
Destination server in Japan, UDP over Cloudflare.

Couldn't play a popular MMO in September due to bad packet loss 24/7. Made a complaint, didn't get fixed, gave up my subscription, and now they happened to have killed overseas throughput as a whole (even Singapore!).

Getting 300KB/s in the evenings and 1.5MB/s on other times, even though it's a 100MBps (12MB/s) Unifi package.

Everything non-local, even neighbouring region AWS and Cloudflare is throttled to fuck. Reported it and they wanted specific sites. Gave them some examples and after some back and forth they'll blame the sites for being "slow". How the hell do I report something like this? They wouldn't even take the Ookla Speedtest results (which they themselves use for TM speedtest).

Two fucking decades of TM's routing/QoS fuckups with countless reports opened and never resolved every year. They could at least have tossed me a bone for having to put up with this torture for so long (nope, still paying overpriced fees - RM140 for 100Mbps package).

Since march 2020 until july 2022 i made complaint at least once a week to tm regarding packet loss after 9pm

finally gave up and switched to maxis with the free 6 month package.

loose all of the tm bonus discount but speed much more consistent

Does Maxis provide public IP addresses? And allow transferring of existing phone number?

Edit: I just contacted Unifi live chat and asked for the steps I need to take to initiate a transfer to Maxis Fibre. The support tech immediately hit [x].

I've been throttled at 900KB/s per TCP connection for CDN hosted content like github (Microsoft Github, you'd think the CDN was local!) and anything outside the country (yes, even Singapore) goes at ISDN speeds. This has been going on since October when I submitted a complaint about bad routing for FF14 which "got better" after a month when they introduced the insane caps.

Since then I've been putting in reports until December when they finally gave up playing nice with the almost daily calls for speedtest/pingplotter results and finally replied to my complaints new and old with "not our problem, best effort":

QUOTE
Is there any way to get the MCMC involved in this? (doubtful)

Still having to put up with this bullshit that started Q4 last year. Connections aggressively capped round the clock. Anyone else having this problem or had it resolved?

Can't wait for my Unifi contract to end. I only wish I could "best effort" my bills like they do with their non-existent service.

And here we go again. TMNut routing just fscked so hard even local sites are out. Miraculously, Lowyat Forum is working.

Is it my imagination or is it about this time of the year that TM pulls this kind of nonsense that usually leaves permanent problems to some routes?

Deja vu. This time even Unifi's own Selfcare is hit by their own routing problem (they use Incapsula which routes through SG, Tokyo then back). That "free upgrade" won't mean a thing given how bad their service is.
