Ya, but however, not easy to banned them as fur farming is very active in Europe, U.S, and China.

Who is TS??

one question to ask Chinchillas, my chinchilla always trying to run away very fast, when i try to approach him, i often let him free run while i'm in room, but i found that he is getting a bit wild, although he did come approach me some time, but he is alway trying to escape when i open door and alway run away when i try to catch him, does this happen to your Chin as well??
*
Chinchilla is a RODENT. They will run away when you try to catch him, you can just sit down, wait, don make big movement, keep something on your hands, like a simple treat, alfalfa? later he will come to look for you, feed him.

Letting your chin free run in the room you must make sure your room is chin proof. Chin proof mean they cannot access to any wire, or thing that may be poison for them to bite. You can let your chin run in the room for a short period of time AT NIGHT, not at day, not in the morning. Chinchilla is a Nocturnal Animals, they sleep at day, active at night. Don't wake him up or disturb him while at day time even you see him awake, he still need rest.

I have chinchilla that is very hard to catch when you let them 'run free'. smile.gif You can see them bounce around the wall. That's why you cage must be long enough for him to bounce and must be solid cage.

i just put one grid of Prestige Chin food in his bow every morning, in most time i will keep this cage door open since i am more then 12 hours in my room.

and now i have invented a new why to give him treat, i mix portion of his Food to gather with raisins in a can, so that the food have the smell of raisin, so its more favorable to Don, so i could offer him his dried food ever time he come close to me or climb up to my leg.
*
haha, control abit on the raisin, just keep to 1-2 raisin a week. You can also use a healthy treat like alfalfa. They will come and grap from your hands as well. smile.gif

alfalfa??? what is that ???
*
Alfalfa is a type of plant. We usually call it alfalfa, but is called Alfalfa hay for pet owner. SCBOY, i will suggest you read those link on the front page, alfalfa is 1 of the very basic hay for all small animal to use, you must know it. smile.gif
Alfalfa need to use it wisely, it can be very helpful and it can very harmful if you dont know how to use it in right time, right situation and right amount.

Other kind of quality called chinchilla as well, their grade is difference and fall under name as "Quality" chinchilla.

If you can as big as possible the wheel, the better. However you need to monitor are they over heat by running on the wheel. Plastic wheel have difference quality as well, you can look for the good quality wheel. Silent wheel is too small. You can look for their sanko wild wheel, is selling they as well. RM1XX.

onLy the maLe is Round & FLuffy now...

Any advise? I wish she wouLd gain moRe weight + gRow heR fuR back..

Marchioro is a good cage, can last you for many years. Chinchilla chew on everything, anything chewable, they will chew it. smile.gif

What you need to do now is , give them dust bath, slowly it will improve. And do you know how old is your chins? if your chin does not take care well at the growing stage, no matter how you feed them they wont grow bigger. The most important thing is their are healthy, eating, jumping and active. Your must generously give hay, lots of timothy hay + a little bit alfalfa hay. With the well care and right diet, your will see a big improvement on your chin's over all appearance, that need time. blush.gif

Male chin is usually very tame, but it depends, each chin is difference, most chin dont like you to hold them, they are more like a 'watch pet'. cool.gif

Raisin, to me, i dont feed. If you want to give, once a week, 1. Or once a month, 1 also. smile.gif Look for those is organic.

Wha ha ha ha!! i just came back from Beijing yesterday and i bought a female baby chinchilla today at Mid Valley;s pet wonderland , she is so cute , said import from Netherland. her ears seems smaller and has shorter tail.
she is only two months old.

i get a new cage to separate them for the first few month. i wonder when will she reach sexual maturity ?
*
Sexual maturity? go can browse first page.

Why not get a flat base cage, the wire base is not good for the feet. You can put thick paper now.

ya, ive never seen any Chinchilla in pet's wonderland before, they only have 2 chin this afternoon, i booked one and i went for a movie, after that when i come back, they got another two female.

i'm planning to get them a big cooling pad to cover their base later, but i wonder when can i put them to gather? my 1st Chinchilla seems so interested at the new Chin.. hmmm
*
For the rules of the forum, we should not discuss about breeding, and when to put them together? When you are prepare and study most of the knowledge of chinchilla and breeding of chinchilla, then you know weather you can put them together. smile.gif I will not encourage 'putting' pet store chin in the 'same' cage unless their same sex. blush.gif

Hmmm how come my New Female Chinchilla has smaller ear and shorter tail? is it because of her age? she is only 2 months old now.
*
That is her 'breed'. Your chinchilla is not 2 months old. At least 3-4 months old. If it is PW ppl tell you, they must be giving the wrong info. What ever imported chinchilla as it claim, it need at least 3-4 months old enable to be flight over. And usually is 6 months old.
