he had not been eating n drinkin since last nite.
i had force feed him some water using syringe feed but he's refused to drink as well so i can only pump into his mouth bit by bit.

this morning i can feel that his tummy is bloated. like full of wind inside.
what should i do?

what should i do?

Rubing his nose meant pain. Feeding just plain water is not enough, it need some food. You can continue to syringe feed him by mixing some of the water from soup pellet from Pro Optimum Chin pellet. Can I know what pellet you feeding him? Do you feed him anything this few day? any diet change? do you feed treat?

i tried feeding him pellet soak in water but he push away. some more the syringe is too small to push out the soak pellet. think the mouth not big enuf i'll try modify it abit cos cant find any bigger one di.

i search online n saw ppl suggest feeding it baytril. u tink it'll be ok if i feed him that?

some more his tummy is soooooo bloated now. and oso no poo no pee for today. really worried.

there's no diet change. no treats oso. only timothy hay and pellet then few days ago a bit alfafa.

You soup the pellet, and use ONLY the water from the pellet, not the bulk. Take a bit of organic sugar cane, dilute it, and let him drink, he need water now. You need to entice him to eat something now beside water, get some junk like dried grapes, papaya, anything is sweet just to help him to eat or some slice apple. If he GI stop, mean life stop soon.

Stomach bloated is very bad, mean something is very wrong. Chin can get cold, but not as easy as us, i dont think it is cold. I really do not know what vet can be recommend for you in this situation.

i tired those dried fruits di but then he lost interest in them as well.
but good thing is he is still interested in dust bath.
i tried to feed him the oxbow crictical care diluted in water n tryign to massage his tummy after that. hope he'll get better.
if u happen to have any other way do let me know.
so i jus put pellet in water n then feed him the water only ya.

Do let us know how is your chin doing. You first thing need to do is make sure water is get into him, he wil dehydrated. Feed him every 2 hours if he only drink a little bit. Continue do what ever you do now till he can eat n drink by himself. PM me your address, i send you some powder to feed your chin, hopefully your chin can recover.

hi all

the sick chin just passed away this noon. think he's waiting for me to be back from work. when i hug him out from the cage he give out his last struggle and pass away in my arms :'(

i dun understand. it was so sudden. last nite he's getting better got pee. n got poo oso though his poo not normal size. very very tiny bit but better then the day before oledi. n got walk ard the cage a bit as well. bloat seem less. but this morning when i feed him he seem a bit weak n not willing to walk. then noon time when i'm bak. he's lying on the side. when i take him out he died.

dunno wat goes wrong.

ts wanna ask will the sickness spread to other chin? they are nto staying in the same cage as him but same room. though i seperate him to another room when i found out he's sick tat nite. jus afraid others might get the sickness.

I am not sure what your chin die of, it maybe bacteria or virus. I can only tell that sometime chinchilla did happen of dead like that, but not always, specially chin begin long travel.

Chin teeth is that colour, some is bit more deep orange, as long as it is not white. If you feeding 100% Pro Optimum Chinchilla Premium Pellets, you do not need any calcium supplement.

baby chin is doing well ... growing bigger and bigger and i see him eating on his own already. When is the right time to separate him and the mum do u think ? somehow i see his fur so much nicer than the mum's anything i can for her ? she is eating alot too of late.

since kit is a boy, i have to separate them eventually so in the midst of looking for another cage now.

Added on May 13, 2010, 11:36 pmbtw princessworldz chin that passed away is the father of my kit. So sad to hear that she gave birth to him then the father pass away not long after.
