Is it? Have you tried playing 120FPS Youtube videos?
*
Do youtube codec even support 120HzFPS in the first place?

Sony Malaysia once again only launching the large and exp af size of their miniLED model doh.gif

And the A80L series seems to have gone up in price as well
*
What can they do? Usually those in 65" and below are budget limited. They cant even beat Samsung on pricing, let alone TCL. Samsung QN95C 65" pre-order is below RM10k for EPP. If you wait for clearance model, you can even get them cheaper as long as you have EPP access. Therefore they can only appease the T20 with deep pocket who are looking for perfection, instead of just focusing on brightness.

65 inch X90L 8799.... ok typical Sony pricing but seems a bit too high compared to last year. Last year X90K RRP was 7k+ iinm?

i hope TCL rumoured C845 pricing is true. gonna be a no brainer there. both running Google TV. Sony might be a bit better in upscaling and motion handling but is it really worth the premium? Also considering its normal FALD vs miniLED FALD
*
Saw QM8 reviews on YouTube and it is blooming quite badly. That's a higher series than C845 and still like that. Color also not as nice.

my x85k is not FALD but also have 4 dark corners
*
You don't know what you are buying? Dark corner is usual for direct lit aka full array. Just without local dimming.

Yeah I just read about it, you are right about the uptime.

But 3794 hours bottom left number for K series sounds a bit unreal though.
*
It has been a year since... why unreal... everyday 8-12 hours is normal for demo set

IINM Samsung Onyx cinema is like OLED, not like normal LED or QLED TV. It has no backlight and each pixel is an individual light-emitting LED.
*
Isn't this what hisense also tried but with mixed result? The brightness suffer since it has to go through 2 screen.

65" X90L is on Sony official store now for 8099 +  RM500 discount (7599 final price) + free RM700 Tng ewallet credits.... wondering should I bite the bullet

reviews for the picture quality all seem very positive so far.... except the blooming since its a normal FALD

damm Sony Msia.... why dont you just bring in the 65 inch X95L or X93L... I just realised there isn't really a choice for us here who want Dolby Vision + minLED except LG or Philips (TCL soon maybe), and neither of those have any stellar reviews
anyone bought from official store before? Do they provide installation for wall mount?
*
I dont think Sony want to compete in the 65inch mini-led category. Besides given the pricing of mini-led by other brands plus the hoohaa about brightness and dimming zones, I dont blame them for doing so. Those lower end 200+ zones from LG, Hisense, TCL going to hurt mini-led pricing. I would aim for big spender who are looking for bigger TV which would them make their algorithm and upscaling superior and more apparent.

If you have the dough for 65", might as well just go QD OLED.

Bro OLED price is much higher than 7.5k.... no need mention QD OLED. Besides I dont want OLED now due to my use case

Regarding the miniLED thing.... I've said that we dont get any miniLED models here as of now other than LG and Philips (that support Dolby Vision). Samsung is the most widely available here with Neo QLED but it doesn't support Dolby Vision. Their price is not cheap as well. So Sony definitely have a market if they bring it in.

But I also understand the general market will not know the difference between LED, miniLED, OLED etc. Many just buy Samsung Neo QLED because it just looks good without realising the tech behind

*
You have to understand how much premium Sony will charge on top of it. Therefore Sony will not have a pricing advantage when compared to OLED/QD-OLED. Since you are looking for miniled, I assumed that your priority is brightness and thus recommended Samsung QD OLED instead.

The reason why 75" miniled have a value is due to its pricing advantage compared to 77" OLED.

Currently in my list as well -

Samsung QN85C - priced similarly to X90L, but since X90L is having promo its gonna be cheaper

Samsung QN95C - most expensive of the bunch, probably the best miniLED we have in our market now with 1.2k+ dimming zones, performance is close to an OLED. But I'm still contemplating whether to spend that much on a TV that doesn't support Dolby Vision

OLEDs are out of the question as of now otherwise I would've gone for LG C3
*
If you are considering Samsung TV, then look for friends/relative with EPP account.

Bought a 65inch QN95B for my parents for RM6950 - RM100 (birthday voucher) and another RM600 TnG voucher (impian raya bersama samsung). Wait for their flash sales with EPP.

Yes I do have a friend with EPP but somehow I managed to get a cheaper price from a store compared to the EPP pricing. Not sure need to wait how long for sales

Still a bit on the edge whether to spend on Samsung due to the Dolby Vision thing. Most streaming services support Dolby Vision rather than HDR10+
*
C series is still relatively new. They are clearing B series. QN95B is still pretty good, 700+ zones, sub 2000 nits. Even my parents are complaining how bright the TV are... LOL.

Personally I pay extra for Sony (Bought a X90J) for their color. Color wise, yes, it looks better out of box. DV or not, I also not sure but when I tried the QN95B, holy crap, my X90J looks average. Took me a while to calm down and not impulse purchase the discounted unit.

Not sure if QN95B is still available as of now. I think most retail stores already ran out of stock

Sony is still champion when it comes to picture processing.... but doubt anyone would notice the difference unless they have both TVs side by side in the same setting and scenario

But I can see many who went and tried other brands still vouching for Sony in the end

Only for SDR.

Didn't get the chance to ask.

How do I check if my unit is a display set?

Unfortunately the new remote lack the keypad to trigger service menu.

If you have a friend with X90J remote... Then you can try

yes, OLED price is still out of reach to most actually. spending close to rm10k for just a 55-inch OLED tv is hard to swallow for most i think.

i got my 55-inch A80J for rm4999 (brand new) only.  tongue.gif  i am happy with my purchase a lot.
now i enjoy more than before to watch movies at home instead of cinema. I watched the latest movie 'Insidious: The Red Door' at TGV on sunday. I found the screen (projected) at TGV so bad that the dark scena looks so greyish... and so unclear.

My eyes are totally spoiled by the OLED TV now. damn. haha.  tongue.gif
*
I think major concerns about oled are pixel life and burn in. Even though oled is godlike for dark scene, I think I wouldn't buy an oled tv despite loving them for my phone and tablet.

There are chances to buy miniled tv for a lot less than what you paid for an oled and it can do hdr way better than oled as well. Personally if one want to buy oled, better buy the qd oled. At least qd oled would still perform in brighter room unlike the older LG panel which cant go bright enough but still dim to prevent burn in when displaying certain scene for too long.

QD Oled S95C also has ABL in place like any other OLEDs. High APL brightness scene will still dim down.

But no doubt it has an impressive peak brightness to bring out the highlights especially for contents mastered to 1000 nits.

There is also EX MLA oled with meta tech like the G3 77 with high peak brightness for bright room condition also 😀
*
G3 is another level liao lor...

Samsung QD OLED is way more affordable if you have EPP account.

Stop overthinking and research. Just sit and watch out for merdeka sales or year end warehouse sale. Yeah, if you buy Sony, you will get a decent TV. If you have extra to spend, then just wait and see what comes around since it is already July, what's with the rush?

If you see the recent headlines, plummeting sales is the headlines for most companies. I would not be surprised to see decent deals in the coming months. Year end is coming soon and they will need to clear inventories to shove up their books.
