Does anyone else experience this issue? I’m not a technical person but I will try to explain as much as I can.

I am using Astro Ultrabox and plugged it to HDMI 1 port. Every time after I turn off the Ultrabox and TV (put to sleep only, didn’t unplug the adapter), I turn on back both TV and Astro, the TV seems not able to detect my Astro box on HDMI 1. It is showing black screen, I will need to restart my TV and only it will reappear. I don’t think it’s Astro box issue? I just started using Astro recently so I cannot validate the root cause yet.

Just sharing. My issue with Astro Ultrabox (AU) is different. When I wake both TV & AU at the same time, no sound will come out.

After some workaround, I need to wake the TV first, press volume up/down and confirm the volume bar comes out on TV and only then I wake the AU. Still unexplained to me until this day but works for me. Maybe you can try? TV first, then AU.

My Sony TV is old. 2015 model. From some reading, it may had to do with old HDMI version on the TV and can't communicate properly with the newer HDMI version on the AU.

OK, I will try TV first before AU. Hopefully will solve the issue. thumbup.gif

Have you tried using a different hdmi port, maybe the arc one?

ARC is used for my Sony sound bar and I try not to unplug it. I did once and caused my TV not able to connect it. tongue.gif

HDMI CEC issue on sony tv. Find my previous post in this thread. I post it before.
*
Oh it’s related to that? I will take note about this.

Anyway, after using jimbet1337’s suggestion for a day, it kinda solves my issue. I will continue using it and see if the issue still persists later. I don’t mind if it’s occasionally but it happened too frequently in the past few weeks.

I cannot believe that I’m still struggling with this issue for two years. Changing a HDMI cable is not a solution for me because my cables are hidden behind the wall and it’s going to be difficult for me. laugh.gif

It’s annoying to be honest. I don’t know what else I can do.

I think reply before as well. Cant remember. Have u try disable hdmi cec pin? Is known that sony tv have this cec issue with some decoder or soundbars. I used to have this issue with my a80j n astro as well.
*
I only have one HDMI cable and I cannot afford to lose the access to watch my TV. laugh.gif

So I just remove the pin, what tool did you use to remove it?

OK you used pin, I read back your old posts. Which side should I do it? To the TV or decoder side?

I suggest you find a spare cheap hdmi cable n give it a try first. I did that.

I did my astro side, but it really doesnt matter which. As long as it is pinned, the cec is diabled.

I waited for 2 days to update you about this. I took the risk and used a pin to “spoil” the CEC. I didn’t manage to remove it but I guess I did spoil it in a way. laugh.gif I think I nearly spoilt the one next to it as well but luckily it wasn’t damaged entirely and the cable is still working well. laugh.gif

OK, after two days no such issue anymore with the Ultra Box. I shall monitor for a longer period but thanks for suggesting again despite you suggested two years ago but I was too afraid to take the risk that time. blush.gif

Get a hdmi CEC less adaptor…

I checked on Shopee and it’s not that cheap but if I cannot do it myself I would buy it next time.

👍👍 if it works the first time, shouldn’t be an issue anymore.
*
Yeah, it no longer has the issue now even after few days. thumbup.gif

Unfortunately, it is happening again recently after it was switched off for almost 3 weeks as I don't live in this house all the time. Sigh.

I always wanted a 65" and above TV, but my living hall is too cute and too small, and the wall won't fit 65". laugh.gif 55" is the max I can get.
