Firstly TS I take it you haven't decided on your degree yet right? I suspect so since your question is very broad.

If you haven't may I know how's your maths and do you have an inclination for all things technical or problem solving? Also what's your main motivation? Purely money? Of course money is why all of us work but are you the type that money is priority 1A, 1B and 1C? And if you don't hit your expected salary at a certain age are you the type that will get depressed

Depending on your answer and financial means, engineering might not be for you. Too many grads fighting for too little jobs. Not just high paying jobs but jobs period

I predict my SPM maths and add maths will be B or A something like that

My maths is ok ok only , average marks everytime in the exam , not the best not the worst

OK

Get ready for a typical long engineer answer haha

Well if you dont like Maths, you're in for a treat. Engineering is full of maths. Some more some less. But you will have alot of standalone math subjects (Statistics, Engineering Maths) and subjects which are calculation heavy. Now what ppl commonly say about the Maths you learn during your degree is generally correct; you dont use it when you're working most of the time. But nevertheless you need to go through it and importantly score.

Because scoring high for your maths is part of getting a good CGPA. You need a good CGPA to stand out. There's alot of graduates out there, alot with no jobs or working in something outside their field. And they're all fighting for the small pool of engineering jobs. When it comes to high paying jobs, the pool is even smaller. When my workplace advertises for Engineers fresh up to a couple years of experience we get flooded by applications. When I just browse through what HR receives, I see alot of newly graduated degree holders who are working as cashiers, sales promoters, barristas. Some lucky ones are working as executives in a non engineering role. To stand out in this sea of graduates, a good CGPA, a first class one is needed.

Also your alma matter plays a part, public Universities are still a good place to get a quality employable degree for cheap but you need good SPM results to go in. And if there is too much competition you might not be offered the course of your choice. The alternative is a private institution, local, twinning or foreign. This costs alot of money. Alot. And with high paying jobs scarce you might not get an ROI when you hit the work force

Of course this sounds discouraging, but to be frank, thats how i see the prospects are for Engineers these days. Its too saturated with too little high paying jobs. But if you understand and are willing to make the sacrifice, whether it be personal, financial etc and this is a passion for you, then go for it. Nothing wrong with having passionate engineers in the workforce

Nope.

Unless you become software engineer, then that one has future and good prospects

I rather become a research/lecturer than joining the glorified technician team. kek
