since the price is keep increasing, i just want a bike that worth the money for the spec as i dont want to upgrade in future. so better to buy highest spec i can buy with that budget.
my requirement same as potachan, foldable, easy to carry on a car, ride around taman or neighbourhood, or hill area. i just found suitable area near my house for biking, around 50km goes and back.
yeah, i did checked that java ira pro and its hv good spec. but sadly hard to find ( cant find on shopee/lazada and other platform) and the price might be over budget already.
well, trs rocher suitable for your purpose. you won't need to upgrade in future until:
1. you are riding with road bike friend. 2. you need to bring the foldable along with u. i don't think one will be comfortable to bring 451 wheelset foldie into a restaurant.
don't obsessed too much with the spec, like andrewhtf said, it's still a bicycle afterall, it's powered by your leg.
trust me, later on you will be obsessed with the weight and aerodynamic.
Hi guys I would like to seek some advise from the forum here since I am just a newbie in folding bikes. I have just gotten my new bike last week (Crossmac Link 30) as a shared ride with my wife. However, i do find the ride's very harsh and bumpy, and it is causing some real pain in the posterior...
Can i ask some advise if there's any way to reduce the bumpiness of the bike (the bike itself does not come with any suspension bits), for example like any recommended spring saddles? I've also tried to search for seatpost suspension but unable to find any for folding bikes.
Thanks a lot guys
lower your tyre pressure. you can check on your tyre wall for suggested tyre pressure. just pump to minimum suggested pressure and try.
I've checked the tyre wall on the bike but it does not say any minimum pressure, just max pressure at 43psi. I have checked the current pressure using my car's tyre gauge, and it is reading approximately half of the max pressure at 22psi. Would this be low enough or should i drop it even lower?
I also forgot to mention, I have actually changed the original saddle to the one from Decathlon, hoping that it would help on the bumpiness but unfortunately it didn't. Would there be any recommended springy saddles that would help in this case (like those old seats that comes with coil springs )? Or seatpost suspension if any?
Thanks a lot again Nit
22psi is very low…the lowest i have ever ride on 20" was 35-40psi with CST 1.50 tyre
well…i never tried any "suspension seat" so i can't comment.
it seems like a very hard tyre

btw…don't tell us that you expect 20" foldie will have same level of comfortness as mountain bike
because there were too many cases where some ppl expect it can be as fast as road bike and as comfort as mtb with suspension because they used to be riding on those big bike
even in folding bike, different geometry and material of the frame does affect the comfortness. of course, tyre material and pressure plays more important role.
for saddle, that 1 really hard to recommend since everyone's buttock different

No definitely not. It is a small bike, and definitely it will be jarring when going over potholes and bumps (the road is also partly to be blamed). The bike is also not a high-end bike like Dahon or Brompton thus i can't expect it to glide over bumps like a magic carpet. Its just that I am trying to see if there are ways to help reduce those jarring slightly to make it bearable and save my buttocks at the same time
Anyways, thanks for the replies ya, appreciate it.. let me try some of your tips on the tyre pressure and experiment on it.
thank you for showing others the proper way of asking in forum with courtesy. if u need more opinion input, try join those fb folding bike group, u could get more replies in much shorter time.
another tip sharing: seatpost and handlepost height in body weight distribution
seatpost higher and handlepost lower gives you more aero riding position but it may put more stress on your palm and wrist.
vice versa, seatpost lower and handlepost higher gives you more upright riding position but your butt need to take all your upper body weight.
u can feel the same when you sit on a chair with and without your arm leaning on the table.
Thanks for the reply bro... do u have any recommendation of FB groups that I can join to pick up some know-how on riding a folding bike?
Yes, i believe my seating position may play a role here, as i am more of a casual upright rider, handle bars are higher than the seat. Probably that contributed alot more weight onto the saddle. However, got a friend who asked me to just ignore the pain and continue riding, and i'll get used to it just like an exercise. Can't argue with that
if u know how to read chinese, then try search any hong kong foldie (小折/折車) group, they are friendly and helpful.
for malaysia, just search any folding bike groups with high number of ppl join.
another way would be watch related videos on youtube, leave comment and see if the youtubers will answer or not.
general good weight for folding bike 20" : 10-11kg (best to keep under 12kg) 16" : 9-10kg (best to keep under 11kg) 14" : 8-9kg (best to keep under 10kg)

Thanks for your suggestion ! What do you think about Hottest 2010? Seem not bad for a foldie below RM1k but it is 13kg tho..Hope to get your insight for this model.
hi guys, new to cycling and folding last ride was teenager and few years back normal mtb
can help suggest a place for buy n sell (online) cos never bought used bike online before, maybe can look at a used one (20 inch folding bike) budget rm1.3k here, park ride then may go for bit road ride with the gengs for some cardio and losing weight or anyone wana leggo their basic ride?
thanks2
ps: currently looking at new gomax space 10. i know it's cheapo. it's what i can afford atm
another ps:gomax space 10 vs dahon suv d6 vs crossmac haagen 901 vs rifle r8 ( the other 3 around 1.5k) any suggestion which you would go with and why?
Funny siao. In Msia, 3sixty is expensive and pikes is cheaper (same 6spd) I read some reviews or such and supposedly 3sixty build quality not as good as camp pike (known as Camp Royale in Spore) which is why more $ in spore.
Right now, I am also looking (day day looking, but not buy hahaha) comparing camp pikes (majority no stock anyhow) and 3sixty. The big major difference I see is the wheelbase. 3sixty is shorter wheelbase (the front wheel will halang the back wheel, so when partial folded on the rack, front wheel cannot be straight)
the 1in diff in wheelbase length, anyone know how much it affects handling/ride quality etc? (comparing pikes vs 3xisty of course)
i feel the other way round, judging on the video below, 3sixty seems better built quality.
3sixty with 3/6 speed hub has shorter wheelbase. latest 3sixty with 3-speed hub and 2 external gear frame already longer by 1-inch. but in malaysia, 3sixty pricing is a joke, that's why ppl go for pikes here. this seller got mentioned price in his video, i forgot which video already, you can look by yourself.
if i would buy a brompton clone now, i will consider to buy the litepro version from lazada. https://s.lazada.com.my/s.WCO4d
the folding hinge locking mechanism same like benotto volga, so won't cause paint chip. traditional hinge clamp below easy cause paint chip.
after see this video, I also agree w you. But Spore pricing for 360 is much cheaper tho. I won't be able to know. Likely all the existing stock (not nice colour, to me) must be old version kua. The Litepro is "shipped from china"... that one, tax apa macam? Even tho technically, (complete) bicycles are "free of tax".
As for acceofix, no tq. too much $$ for my taste. This bike is for me to ride Taman w/ family. Need to fit 3x into a car. (now got 1x20 and 1x16)
talking about benotto, I also consider that as well, but 3 speed saja, as Taman rider I think can la... no climb hills pun. but... the butt macam, extra 400RM for "future proofing". Also, the Litepro is (hiten) Steel which is diff from pikes which is cro-moly.
APa diff in ride quality ah?
yea, unable to tell unless u import from taobao. but all brompton clone pricing in taobao also not good.
litepro shipped from china u no need worry about tax because u bought from lazada…just maybe a bit longer since sea shipping. i would say around 1 month eta.
if u worry so much then just get the latest gen pikes here lo. i think pikes around 2.3-2.4k.
need fit 3 in a car i prefer to have 16" or 14" not 20"

Hi-Ten steel tho... I've been scrolling the FB buy/sell etc for pikes also. Not many ppl are letting go.
buy from lazada official store u got lazada protection…u directly buy from them where are u going to complain if something happen.
it just mentioned steel…didn't say is hi-ten or chromoly. but if u search "week eight 小布" in taobao, the description says 铬钼钢, that says chromoly steel.
but i guess it doesn't mention clearly maybe they really use hi-ten steel to save cost. but if u know the hi-ten steel and chromoly weight, then u can compare both weight to see what steel they are using
if u already decided to get it, i would advise you to get it now. steel price hike later they increase price again, and 11.11 is coming you don't want the courier getting overload and you gonna wait for it for long long time plus parcel mishandling abuse…haha.
