How do you deposit the USD into MOO?
*
he's using wise MYRUSD rates as guideline, impossible for malaysians to direct deposit USD

Never ever covert your MYR into USD in moomoo during weekends. It'll cost you 0.8%, so it's worse than TransferWise.

Do it during Malaysian working hours. 0.4%

What about weekdays after Malaysian working hours?
Is it also 0.8%?
*
our ringgit not actively traded after office hours so the fees are higher

Hv to convert MYR deposited into USD which will incur some fees that is higher than Wise right?
Is there any method to manually deposit USD into MooMoo since they charge high fees fr conversion.
*
no, Moomoo MYRUSD conversion is cheaper than Wise. however, each time you make a trade you need to pay 0.1% malaysian stamp duty. better to just open IBKR acct and fund your acct with USD using Wise.

if you have sg PR, you can open sg Moomoo and deposit USD straight

  1. i don't use wise to fund IBKR. i'm using moneymatch that offers same rate as Moomoo. i'm using Wise to illustrate how even using an expensive remittance company is still the smarter choice in the long run
  2. $21101.09 translate to RM99565.49. that's RM100/U$21.19 in stamp duty. you buy once, sell once. then buy something else, you just paid U$63.57 in stamp duty
    QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Mar 2 2024, 11:35 AM)
you do 2 round trips (buy-sell-buy-sell) can recover that costs (thanks to Moomoo MY madani 0.1% tax)
    *
with good conscience, i cannot recommend moomoo Malaysia to ppl based on fees alone. unless you really only buy one ETF and hold them for years till you retire. and your investment strategy never ever changes

better register with IBKR while you can. you may never know if one day they set up shop in Malaysia.

you'll be barred from opening IBKR LLC acct, then forced to open IBKR M'sia acct with stamp duty required

Also it's not a big deal if you get many grab shares and not one grab @ $3.xx.

So what did he get?
