I was thinking of starting Versa out by dumping in a sum of around RM 1,000 and then after that will be like either RM 100 (bi-weekly) or RM 200 (once a month)
Just use versa as parking place until you need the money to pay your credit card bills, insurance, utilities, housing loan, making purchase, making investment, any cukai. It's not an investment but parking place.
I use it as parking place until my next credit card bill. Basically around 30-40 days interest free money by using credit card. Also a parking place for me until I collect enough money to transfer over to sg bank for investment. I treat it as high interest savings account.

Thanks, also, is it right to be able to consider Money Market Funds a kind of a Fixed Deposit that does not have the PIDM protection? Been reading up on M.M.F's, just wanna get what others think
No. You cannot think like that. Cause not all mmf invest in FDs. Some MMF invest in short term bond to boost interest. And by investing in short term bonds there is real chance of losing money but very rare.
