Just expect subpar performance πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ while not beating OPR which is why better to put in the money in FD rather than these subperform PRS funds which is only good for tax breaks

Versa Cash month of Nov got 3.93% return which is good if continue like this gonna move some of my fund to Versa
*
Nothing to do with Versa πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ the returns are run by AHAM EDEP portfolio managers itself

The only thing Versa can do is to get trailer rebates and top up the difference to push it 4.3%

PRS Versa worth to invest in? Now got promo invest 3k get 12% return for versa cash.
*
Not worth it in terms of returns πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ worse than current FD rates

You would use PRS is you want to reduce your taxes otherwise forget about it with underperforming funds

Even for tax rebate so need to make sure u are in your late 40 else tax rebate also useless as long run you will be at lost since tax rebate only on the first year
🀦🀦🀦🀦🀦
*
Why late 40 πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ is it based on your taxable earning brackets itself

Versa did put one good infographic itself on how much can you save and able to buy how many Nasi lemak itself

im new to versa less than a month....
what is the main issue with versa now or previously ?
*
I started Versa since inception and so far no issue not much with the exception a few months back rebates are delayed by 2 weeks but at least they acknowledged and inform us about the delay

More like OCBC 4.18% FD (effective rate 4.09%) better, got PIDM protection some more as well~
*
Cannot compare πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ because of lack liquidity in FD

Returns for cash not used of course go higher rate 1st then only tenure

FD you need to fulfill the tenure to get the full interest πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ while MMF it is accumulated based on time and returns

How come revised to 4%.
*
Go read notice πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Versa can give further notice anytime πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ even as short as 1 minute before due date as stated Cleary in clause 5.4 πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Revised to 4% πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ because operating costs higher and all this while Versa been fronting cash just to top up the difference

Well, there's always the national investment fund, ASM with 4.5% dividend (possibly 4.8% if lucky next year). Surprisingly ASM is now outperforming KDI and Versa Save investment funds.

Cannot compare fixed price UT with MMF πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ when liquidity is quick with lower risk cash management

Calculate back because it is only top up by 0.07%pa while the previous month is 0.37%pa due to reduction to 4%

Why bother to check when you putting in for long term πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ as the long term returns are horrible as they only is to lower taxable income

QUOTE(victorian @ Dec 20 2023, 04:42 PM)
Its only withdrawable until you are 55  sweat.gif

If you have to check it weekly/monthly and update everyone in the forum, you are doing it wrong.

Even if it increase 30%, it does not matter because it is not withdrawable.
*
It is only withdrawable from account B/2 subject to 30% maximum with eligible purposes and it is taxable 8% penalty

QUOTE(besiegetank @ Dec 20 2023, 07:38 PM)
PRS can still withdrawable, just subject to penalty only. You can do it does not mean you should too  biggrin.gif
*
The tax penalty is hefty at 8% will wipe out at least 3 years annualised gains

Ya I admit I didn’t. My bad
I just treat it as a place for me to park , sort of like savings so every month park monthly salary and withdraw the amount few days later when asnb is available
*
They are doing reinvest monthly at πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ end of the month it will drop in price but your units will grow up so later it will be the same after 1st week of the month

So when I withdraw 25k it is normal for me to get around rm25 less in bank account right
The 25 will be sort of credited back to versa later on
*
Yes and it depends on when you cash in and cash out

The leftover will be reflected after 3 business days usually the 1st week of the month once the distribution is done

QUOTE(frankliew @ Jan 2 2024, 04:14 PM)
Thats y KDI is more better. Versa complicated
*
Both are equally good if you know how πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ because one is self managed the other is left to other party to managed πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

QUOTE(virtualgay @ Jan 2 2024, 04:56 PM)
do note that u must at least have RM100 else they will consider your account tutup then wont even credit back
*
Wrong πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ once you do full withdrawal even the rm100 will be credited back to your account πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ as I done a few times before on full withdrawal

The rm100 is the minimum to ensure your Versa account is active only

dont do full withdrawal so it can pay out any pending distribution
if full withdrawal then suddenly got distribution then how? will the money goes back into your Versa Cash?
*
You still can do withdrawal even if got distribution πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ because Versa know how to allocate for withdrawal because of the fractional units πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ and the distribution will be in units and distributed into your account πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ even if you withdrawal during the distribution period

thanks for the info...
so far i never do any full withdrawal before
this experience is base on my other UT investment as ppl always say leave minimal amount so they UT dont close your account and u get your distribution
*
You cannot compare UT with MMF πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ as MMF has liquidity with UT doesn’t and it has change a lot these days not like last time when you need to have holdings

Versa is using AHAM's unit Trust(UT) named Affin Hwang Enhanced Deposit Fund, which is based on money market funds (MMF)
*
UT is different from MMF πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ because of liquidity πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ and doesn’t need to wait for trust to execution

Money market fund invests in highly liquid, short-term cash equivalent instruments, commonly known as β€œmoney market instruments.” Banks issue money market instruments, such as commercial papers, as a way of reinforcing short term cash to balance its daily deposit shortfall reserves. In other words, by buying the money market instruments, money market funds are effectively lending money to banks. These instruments are supported by banks and are considered a low risk due to their high liquidity and short term.
