i don't think thai dogs are shortlived... ppl probably confused this with the fact that thailand has a lot of puppy mills and the quality of the puppies are terrible... methinks as the sire is a champ, he should have been well taken care off and of good stcok, no need to worry smile.gif

penny, i would be more worried about mange instead of mosquito bites...

to be honest, i had no problems introducing a second puppy to my household, the older boy was afraid of the smaller more boisterous girl at first but as you can see in the pics they are best of friends now... and yes, I did not change the boy's routine.

no need to panic... mange infections look a lot like food alergies and mosquito bites... to determine if it really mange the vet will have to do a skin scraping and examine under a microscope... i cannot stress how important it is too have a vet you trust do this as $$ minded ones can blatantly diagnose mange and have you make repeat visits for skin dipping and ivermectyin (or something like that iirc) injections. Mange takes a long time to cure.

but the reason why vets usually advise against getting a pup with red spots on the tummy is that it could be an indication of insanitary breeding conditions & practises (i.e. puppy mill) and also a weak immune system.

Perhaps cyy can advise you further on this smile.gif

Why theres 10in1? its becoz some pple board their dogs often going overseas, So they give 10in1.

But if ur not, then 7in1 is way enough.

Sorry, not exactly true. There are numerous reasons why some vets will recommend the 10 in 1, this often depends on the environment and lifestyle really. Please consult your vet, and i cannot stress this enough, please please find a vet that you trust and one that you (and your wallet) are comfortable with. Ask around for reputable vets, there are A LOT of $$ minded bastards out there sad.gif

yes, it IS one of many reasons, that's why it is better to consult a vet b4 deciding... an honest one will explain the pro and cons to you and let you choose.

QUOTE(Pennywise @ Oct 10 2007, 12:57 AM)
<snip> <snip>
Marcus bought this pair of Westie from Mr. Chan, my breeder. The problem with this guy is that last time he bought 3 Westies from Mr. Chan for 5k. A pair of Westie at the age of 18 months and another is a breeding female at the age of 4 years.
He sell my friend sister (who is best friend with his wife) a 4 year breeding female Westie which has been debark for 2.5k to make money out of her.

To encourage her to purchase, he lied to her saying that buy the female Westie from him cause he cannot take care of so many and he has the intention to breed them as side biz. Now, he just want to sell it off after digging some profits.

Obviously this made my fren and their parents really upset about this liar and his dirty tactics. I discourage you all from buying from people such as these.

Thank you.

Not to be kepoh here but isn't a fello who sells a breeding westie just as bad as the one buys it and the sells it again after using it for breeding... whistling.gif
I have honestly never seen such an assorted motley of backyard breeders and puppy mill agents as I have seen in LYN's garage sales.
As for pennywise, I'd normally say take cassie home on Friday as that means you will be able to devote more time to her on saturday as opposed to having to go to work/uni but from your posts i do doubt that the breeder's is the best place for her. Take her back Thursday.

My 2 cents.
