@myee
Coz you are running into one of these white menu issue, it only happened to a few of the graphic chips.

Or you can go irc.osx86.hu and look for a proper fix.

-v is verbose mode, where the load sequence is rendered on screen so you can diagnose the hang.
-s is single user mode
-x i think is safe mode

After pressing F8, the Darwin screen will prompt something like Boot_
That's where you key in the boot keystroke and press return.

If it still doesn't load with all these, try change another kernel to boot.

Thanks, but on my setup, i think it ask me to press ENTER for startup options instead of F8...anyway, i can get to the screen below:

I found the parameters again here:
http://apple2pc.blogspot.com/2008/02/darwi...ot-options.html

I read from somewhere i need to enter the
"Graphics Mode"="1680x1050x32@60"

Is the 'x" suppose to be 'x' or '*'??

And how to change a different kernel? Re-install? sweat.gif
need to try tonight.

yea just type x as the letter 'x', but it is not 110% will work. It depends on your gc driver u installed. Normally if the driver supported for your gc, you can adjust the resolution from system preferences. Btw, by default u do need to press F8 to go to the darwin bootloader. For your case, at your startup system file (forgotten the name of the file) already written to enable the darwin bootloader.

fyi, u don have to re-install hack for the kernel. U can just replace the existing kernel with new 1 via some program (such as transmac or macdrive which can read HFS+ partition) then you must remember to repair permission via your hack disc.

Well, looks like my MAC OSX really kanasai already....nothing works. Mainly due to the ATI 4850 + LCD widescreen monitor i suppose. It was still working with the ATI 4850 + 17" CRT monitor. I suspect it could also be the DVI connection, but i'm not going to revert back to VGA. Looks like it's bye bye to MAC OSX for now. Hopefully Apple or ATI will released a driver for 4850 in err...1 year's time?? doh.gif

So sad... cry.gif

Hmm...or maybe i start buying some cheap parts in GarageSales to build a C2D HTPC...does the E21xx CPU works as well as a E4xxx CPU? Anyone here use E21xx for their MAC OSX?

hi guys, i am new here. successfully doing the dual boot installation of vista and hackintosh. huhuhu. my setup:

distro: iDeneb v1.3 Mac OS 10.5.5
processor: intel 2.0 ghz core duo
mobo: asus p5kpl-am
ram: 4 gb
graphic card: gainward hd4670

problems:
1. initially the nic cant be detected. download the driver from official website and it's working
2. the graphic card memory only shown 256mb. it is actually 512mb

Err...i dun think your Hackintosh is running on full spec. I dun think there is any drivers for ATI 4000 SERIES card yet.

What u see is only default VGA driver, which doesn't support QE/CI...meaning you'll have problem playing DVD movies and some other playback...and it can't display higher/native resolution for LCD...you're stuck with one default resolution.

Check your control panel and u'll see the QE/CI is not supported.

I gave up hackintosh after upgrading to ATI 4850...sigh..

Hello, I'm new here, I hope I don't break any rule. I wanted to ask if would be possible to install OSX86 on my Compaq Presario V3918, I've been googling for a few days but I still don't fine all the info I'm looking for. Here are my hardware specs:

Processor: AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-60
Chipset: nVidia nForce 630i
Wireless: Broadcom 802.11/b.g
Video card: nVidia GeForce Go 7150M
Sound: Conexant High Definition Audio
Ricoh memory card reader

Well, I don't know what else is important to know if it's possible to install mac. I also would like to know which version of mac should I use if possible to install. Sorry I'm completely noob with mac but I want to buy one so I want to learn about leopard. Well, hope you can answer my post. Thanks in advance.

Don't think it'll work. I've an ASUS lappy with similar config. It hangs in installation.

Some interesting news:

Looks like the EFI-X is a scam. It's just the normal hackintosh hack stored onto a USB thumbdrive, with a DRM installed to prevent prying eyes. I'm sure glad i didn't spend like RM600 for it!!
