I encounter such error. The problem is I cant successfully boot my SL when there is no DSMOS
I can only boot after I add the DSMOS, else it would stuck at ACPI_SMC_Plugin start::(WaitingAppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out in verbose mode

How to solve?

Thanks

How to verify that my SL running in x32 or x64?

Figure it out already!

By default when I never put a flag, it would boot into x64

user posted image

So, to force the system to boot into x32, I need to flag at the boot period

user posted image

PS: I thought the Chameleon RC2 & EFI 10.1 wouldnt handle x64 mode sweat.gif sweat.gif

geng , btw dont worry if you're running 32-bit kernel , your programs are 64-bit. Just go to spotlight , type activity monitor and you'll notice that apps are in 64-bit !
*
Yeah, I think so
Even the kernel were i386, seems ALL of treads were 64bit(marked) in Activity Monitor

I'm planning to build a Hackintosh system, which is the best distro to install SL?
*
Please dont use distro coz they are scuks a lot
You wont learn if you using distro!

QUOTE(CPURanger @ Oct 24 2009, 03:25 PM)
gengstapo, The reason why Apple still run 32 bit kernel as default because there are many 3rd party (Epson, Canon and etc) drivers are still in 32 bit. It will take time for them to update. There are still many software in 32 bit, hopefully it will change very soon.
*
Yes that was I mention even in Apple site, they set the SL to boot into 32bit kernel by DEFAULT, atleast for time being.
But my problem IS, my DEFAULT kernel will be 64bit & it prevent me to run some of my hardware correctly
As to prevent the SL booting into 64bit, I put a flag into my plist so it force my SL load the 32bit kernel.. What a weird situation.. smile.gif

At the moment I will be sticking to Leopard. As SL 10.6.1 is not stable even on real Macs.
*
Perhaps you would give a try?
It much faster than Leopard
Since I successful setup dual boot Leopard & SL, I havent log into my Leo since yesterday laugh.gif laugh.gif

Obviously you have not use Mac before. Hackintosh is only 90% Mac IMO.

Under OS X you can resize bootcamp partition and also select which partition to reboot or boot up, Mac OS X or Windows partition.

Yeah not really that important but it makes Hackintosh more like Mac plus convenience.
*
Cehh, our designer use iMac & MacPro at my office. Sometimes I spend my times "godek2" both of em'. It comes with stock setup w/out Boot Camp.. So I dont know regarding it..
Thats why Im asking the needed of Boot Camp doh.gif tongue.gif

get PS2Nub

if you can afford to get i7 , do get a USB keyboard. Leopard/Snow prefer USB keyboard over PS2 keyboard tongue.gif

Anyway

I've come up with something new , its called Empire EFI (my answer to Rebel EFI) , does the same thing as Rebel EFI . Do read it , its hilarious on how I mock those who steal stuff tongue.gif

Interesting! So, can I install Retail Leopard into my i7 w/out needed all the scripting method such in insanelymac guide?
The dfe-boot can be use with lower cpu w/out SSE3 instruction?

Yeah, I have. If I install that, booting normally will ask for a reboot. I had to safe boot and delete it. :S Thanks anyway.

actually it has support for i7 , i dont have an i7 to test out (bear in mind I am poor and humble guy) and I am still using Pentium D to do these stuff

You can get X58 , it would work -no doubt. But then you'll have to do some patching up before getting snow leopard to install. I am trying my best to make it autoamted soyou dont have to do the patching for installation and worry about it after installation

Cehh, down to earth konon.. tongue.gif laugh.gif Atleast you still have Mac Mini
I only have my Hacintosh machine.. Sigh
