Guys, a stone hit my windscreen and had a 3 cm crack. Is there a minimum crack for an insurance claim to replace the windscreen? If the windscreen is replaced, do we need to bring to Perodua SC to do any recalibration of the camera? And is the tint covering the camera (the tint cover entire windscreen) or it is only around the camera unit?

Ativa is so well known for it's pussy windscreen. It's only when it will happen to our car rather than not happen.
*
Going to answer my own question.

Basically need to bring to the Perodua Body and Paint center. Any amount of crack can use insurance to claim. The windscreen with the AV tint is RM18xx and without tint is RM13xx. I only insured RM1K, in dilemma on whether to tint outside as the AV tint is rubbish but worried the tint guys going to mess the camera portion. Perodua will also do all the necessary camera recalibration if needed. It will take a day to repair (morning go in, evening can pick up car) but another day before that is required to submit the documents for insurance claim.

Has anyone here has windscreen crack but left it until it becomes much bigger before replacing?

I am aware of the lousy quality of the windscreen, I got it insured. Took it to the highway a few times now, I recalled 3-5 incidents of stone hitting my windscreen, saw like 3-4 stone chip on my windscreen now but syukur no cracks.
The price you inquired, is it from Perodua or was it from elsewhere?
*
It's Perodua Body and Paint Center. Normal SC don't do windscreen change.

Isn't the seatbelt alarm reminder only for the front two seats?

Did you put anything on the front passenger seat?

I think the rear seats will only show the seatbelt reminder, no alarm.
*
The rear seats also, if my wife take it off before the car stops, it will alarm.

I need suggestion for rear dashcam, assuming i dont want to replace the provided front dashcam but it doesnt have rear side, any dashcam that offers only rear side?
*
I used a Xiaomi dashcam (I know it's outdated compared to today's all those "mai" stuff) powered by the USB port at the rear. Cable went under the floor mat and went under the seat.

Just curious, do you guys keep the Adaptive Driving Beam function on all the time? By pressing the A button on the side.
*
I left it on but once was stopped by police for this. I said "Perodua set punya ini high beam". It was a dark road though without incoming cars. I do think it works albeit not 100% perfect.

Hi guys. For ativa AV spec, it come with solar and security film right? Anyone know what is the brand and model of the tint?
*
Llumar but can't remember the model, I called Llumar during the launch 2 years ago for confirmation. But it's a pathetic solar film especially the front and side front.

Yeah sometimes. I think mostly its coming from behind the head unit and behind the dashboard. I read somewhere it is cables behind the head unit that is making the rattling sound and the dashboard is, well, Perodua standards of fixtures. But it can be fixed by sticking padded double sided tape on several points between the dashboards.
*
There were a day while driving on those thick repeated yellows lines, suddenly a small screw dropped on the front passenger floor. It's probably coming from the center part. Still weren't able to find where the screw supposed to go. I felt that Perodua front dashboard quality has dropped compared say to their 1st gen Myvi.

Is this something we can DIY fix or can ask mechanic to help fix?
*
It is basically a hole where some hose goes through but the diameter is bigger and hence got gaps allowing the smell to creep into the car. The Perodua technician said nothing has been done until now. The way I look at it, it's another cost cutting measure by Perodua.

Gearbox wear because of shifting D-N-D
*
For me the clutch plate is a wear and tear component, so over time it ned to be replaced. My old manual Myvi didn't have it's clutch plate change until I sold it at 200K km milleage as the shifting was still very smooth. If put D and apply brakes, wouldn't that create a counter force on the engine and transmission? Like the car wants to move but you are holding it back forcefully?

So, after starting the engine and shifting the gear and the engine control malfunction and camera error comes out. I knew this would happen sooner or later depending on how I shift the gear knob. I think I left it like half a split of second in between the gear. So I immediately brought it to a nearby service center. So all they did was resetting the error but they mentioned their outlet haven't receive the latest software for the gearbox. So, I didn't get the update. Then I asked if I were to walk into a bigger branch and ask for an update, they said they won't do it for you unless that error comes out again. So if any of you guys see this error, make sure you visit a bigger branch like Glenmarie so the problem will be solved properly through a software update. I just felt the gear shifting is sluggish at times.

Read in Ativa FB Club that the stabiliser bar is prone to break easily. It is made of hollow metal. Is the stabiliser supposed to be a solid metal?

HI frends

I noticed that the Ativa has this ECU/camera malfunction issue. Correct me if I am wrong but I never heard of such an issue before with cars like Myvi. This type of problem sounds like continental car type problem 😅. Why does Ativa seem to have this type of problem?
*
It happens when you sort of let the gear knob stay in between the gears for a certain fraction of time longer than you would normally shift the gears. That is how mine got trigger. It's a software bug I believe.

same as here, guess the SC tech unplug the battery and the ECU got reset. And the ECU need to relearn again the acceleration of the engine. Thats why you be getting this symptom. For me, 1st day was terrible, i need to use manual gear 1 to just get out of the junction only.  The 2nd day, i go to highway and drive about 100-120km distance. (not pedal hard/speed) just smoothly cruising at 80-110km. After that, ECU fully learn, and the acceleration is back to normal.
*
Actually shouldn't all these settings kept in a non-volatile memory that even if you removed the battery, it should still remember the settings unless a factory reset is perform. I felt this is one of the pressing issue that Perodua has been brushing it off.

I remember someone mention before here, the burning smell will naturally go away after 10k mileage. I am well above 10K and still smelling it if I go up to 100KM/h haha. Is this something Perodua can help ? Or I just need to tahan until it is gone?
*
There's a secondary air intake hole that didn't get a proper seal from Perodua. Some cables or piping goes through this hole as well but obviously there's some tiny gaps. When you press hard to accelerate, the smell comes in. Myvi had the similar hole but is properly sealed tight, hence no smell. Got to know this from Perodua technician. He said as long not many people complain, they ain't fixing this.

leave the car there...said nothing wrong...reset everything again haiz...

Last time I got error due to one of the sensor which occured when I shift the gear where I accidentally let it sit in between gears for more than 1 s. So, ini SC damn bodoh. All they do is reset to clear the error. He said new firmware update fixes this but SC is kecik miao he said, so Perodua haven't give them the firmware update. He said, if want to update have to go for bigger service outlet but that is if and only if the error comes out again.

If you were to put your key fob on the push start button and start the car, does the start works easier?

Probably the key fob battery is low. CR2032 coin cell. I notice it's battery lifespan is not that great.

Guys, car reaching 3 years 3 month. Started to feel battery might die soon. The start-stop eco idle stopped kicking in (green indicaror no longer showing) and starting the car takes probably half a second longer than usual. Should I change the battery already? Looking at Almaron/Panasonic/Bosch MF batteries.

Changed the battery this morning. It managed to start probably the very last time this morning. The auto-start-stop eco idle didn't come back alive. I guess it's dead and need to check at SC.

My belting system also has noise and even after changing the belt (not supposed to as there's only 3-4 small crack and milleage just only 30K), sound still comes in when slowing down. I think it's the tensioner. Warranty for tensioner just passed but complain was made 6 months ago and few times went to SC but foremen not good enough to catch (or deliberately cannot catch). Will argue that complain was lodged much earlier but due to their incompetency, weren't able to pinpoint. Belt change was under my own cost.Need to kick the ball back to your court.

Note: Battery change
=============
They put in a spare battery through the OBD connector (I guess to supply voltage to the on-board computer) to avoid setting from being lost during battery removal. I thought all these settings are on non-volatile memory. But these guys are just battery shop guys and at least they took pre-caution.
