https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...for-lemon-laws/It’s too early for car buyers to know the ethics and corporate cultures of the new car companies while there is no law to protect Malaysian motorists from defective vehicles.... ...It’s therefore more urgent than ever to enact a lemon law to protect Malaysian car buyers especially in the new era of smart cars and electric vehicles. In the meantime, perhaps it’s better for car buyers who are interested in China-made cars and EVs to stick with those distributed by Malaysian car distributors renowned for excellent after sales service.

Yesterday a new idea floated:ombudsman scheme https://www.bernama.com/en/general/news.php?id=2315844

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Jul 12 2024, 09:33 AM) Hopefully it turn out as per plan. Afraid manufacturers put some stopper there which end up delay a bit. Just like long time ago, Diesel Bio-diesel plan, delay cz manufacturers all reluctant to commit this at initial phase, they come out statement their diesel engine cant take it for example. This government is as how JP Morgan puts it: walk the talk https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...ace-of-progresshttps://www.cnbc.com/2024/07/11/jpmorgan-up...cy-reforms.htmlThis 1 and a half year old government is gungho and daring but offensive to some quarters whom are sensitive. Even GLCS can't escaped from being grilled, we are seeing stuffs we have never seen before since decades where GLCs were wearing a perpetual "pardoned" badges https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2024/07/...mpanies-flaggedSo you think automakers have much hindrance power? No I think not. Not even Proton let alone Perodua , and time is ticking for all. The beauty is market force shall determine who will actually be the winners. Think of how Tesla made it here and BYD becomes top 10 sales in Malaysia in such short time This post has been edited by EnergyAnalyst: Jul 12 2024, 10:01 AM
