Hi guys, interested to get this phone.

From my research i got few things to ask:

1) Is the screen dimming still an issue when gaming or when filming videos under the sun?

2) How's the optimization of this 5 months+ phone now? I know earlier got a lot of bugs with MIUI on this phone, but from recent posts here seems like this is still the case?

3) I plan to get the black 6gb/128gb version, I don't really play mobile games anymore these days..

I'm more concern with enjoyment of multimedia consumption (youtube, movies/tv series, spotify, browsing social media and surfing the web, etc etc)
Mostly streaming as well, so i dont really keep big video files in my phone, but may be tempted to now try to watch movies on the phone (downloaded torrent) if the screen is really good.. So for my use case do you think 6gb/128gb is good enough? Or should I top up the 200 or so to get the 8gb/256gb?

4) Also, the phone comes with a lot of bloatware right? What should I do when I got the phone? I'm guessing its to update to latest MIUI asap, then remove all the bloatware firstly before setting up the phone? Got any tips/info on the removal of the bloatwares?


Also do share with me your thoughts and experiences on the phone since it has been out for like 5 months+ now and which variant you using (6+128/8/256) and whether you're happy with it or unhappy with it..

hard to find mid-range to flagship level phone with led indicator these days especially when everyone is going for the almost bezel-less look..

it was tough at first not having the led notifications, but learn to adapt to it no longer being there and now im glad they choose to do away with led indicators for a much bigger and immersive screen feel.

Now with the release of 11t and 11tpro, i guess F3 still hands down the undisputed value for money champ when it comes to every aspect of phone performance barring cameras?

Kinda hard to justify 11tpro price when you compare it with the f3.. For almost 1k extra, you only get dolby vision support, 120w fast charging but the 33w is still mighty capable.. better cameras, and even then the 11tpro's cameras arent even that great according to reviews.. and when it comes so s888, a much hotter chip that throttles too much and drains battery even faster that makes the 5kmah battery perform way worse compared to f3s 4.5kmah battery according to gsmarena tests.

you both are right, its only 2.1k for same ram/storage option.

but nowadays can get 8/256 F3 for 1500 ma excluding further discounts, if you can get lazada bank vouchers or during 9.9/10.10/11.11 sales with lazada bonus the price can go down to around 1.4k or 1.3k even..

Ok anyway lets just assume base current prices 1.5k for F3 vs 2.1k for 11T pro, thats 600 ringgit difference.. But is the phone actually 600 ringgit better compared to the F3?

1) Like I said, the battery is bigger but from reviews of battery life tests (GSMarena) the 5k on the 11tPRO is actually having way worse battery life than the F3. So I dont see that as an upgrade.. S888 is more power hungry therefore the bigger battery negates any battery life improvements..


2) Camera? Quite meh, even worse than the normal 11 series, no OIS, etc etc.. Maybe some software updates in future can fix it who knows.. But for now as it is, the price jump doesnt justify the slightly better camera than the F3 at all IMHO.

3) The only thing it got going is the S888 chipset, that also if you are not a gamer. If you play games it still runs hot and throttles eventually. and the thing is, it is only a 1080p screen. So the S888 is an overkill in terms of performance. The S870 chip would have been better because it would be able to sustain 100% performance for much longer periods. Again this will tie back to point #1, if they used S870 they can also take full advantage of the 5kmah battery and give it super good battery life as well. If they wanted to use S888 then they should have given a quad hd screen like the normal 11 series, but instead u get basically the same screen as the poco F3 but with dolby vision support, lol..

4) 11T pro speakers although tuned by harman/kardon, but sound quality is actually meh. and not as loud as the poco f3. Have a listen for yourself, I did and I really didn't like how the speakers sounded..


5) Ok, the only really good thing i would give it to them is the 120w fast charging and the split battery cell tech that is new, supposedly prevents overheating compared to normal single battery.

All in all I think this sums up nicely. Awkward time to release this phone as the earlier phones by now have their price cuts already and is more worth it to get than the 11t pro. Or if you could wait a little longer, the next gen Snapdragon and flagships will be announced in few months time as well..

bro the function is called AOD = Always On Display, so it will always be on like the name suggests. When no notification it will usually display a clock/day/date and some background image. When got notification come in, the icons will appear so you know which app got notification.

If you turn off the AOD function then the phone screen will be off. But I think you can use breathing/pulse light notification even if you turn off AOD so that when notification comes in the screen lights up temporarily depend on the design/pattern you chose. You can try that out, its sort of a mid-way between AOD and an actual notification LED.

Or you can try out the AOD function and see if you like it, if you worry about battery life it doesn't really affect battery life much because only the clock part of the screen is light up, the rest of the black screen = the pixels are not turned off = no power consumption.

Personally, I dont use AOD because I worry about screen burn-in on AMOLEDs, so anything to prolong and prevent screen burn-in from happening because i plan to keep this phone long term like 4~5years..

and by that logic if i plug in using my samsung S8 charger & cable which i think is qc 2.0 @ 15W fast charging, it would be fine right?

ah ok so it's just using old charger la right.. i thought maybe got software setting to switch between slow/fast charging.. Like in my old S8 can choose to turn on/off fast charging in the settings, so can just use the same set of cable + charger like that, less messy and clunky..

anyone run into this issue with dolby atmos where it is not working properly on chrome and youtube vanced.. While on official youtube app it is working.. On "dynamic" preset in settings btw..

previously it was working fine on youtube vanced, not sure what i did (was uninstalling some xiaomi bloatwares along with revoking some advert permission stuffs), but after that it was not working for vanced although the option in video toolbox still shows dolby atmos is ON.

A very obvious and quick test you can do is this video:

- If dolby atmos is working, both top/bottom speakers will still have sound although by right its not supposed to since its a stereo test (that's atmos feature, it takes over the video config and apply its own rules to make the sound nicer)

- If dolby atmost not working, it will play the video originally like intended, when playing sound on left/top speaker, the right/bottom speaker wont have any sound at all, vice versa..



was scratching my head wondering why no longer working with youtube vanced when previously it was working fine.

turns out it was true.. I change the dolby atmos preset from "dynamic" to "Video" and then its working again in vanced.. But now im confused because previously all the while "dynamic" preset it was working fine, but now the only preset working with vanced is "video"

Really dumb this MIUI bug, and i dont know what i did that triggered it in the first place..

no. that is their 12.5.4 global equivalent update..

it is not disabled, if you only have 1 sim card in, the option memang greyed out, mine is like that too.. logic ma, if you only have 1 sim in, it will be the default already..

as for your cant make/receive voice call problem.. have to elaborate further.. what happens when you try to make a call?

could be so many things and so many ways to troubleshoot..

1) start with the most obvious, is your sim card still active? can use data? if yes, try putting the sim in sim2 slot see if problem still occur??

2) test your sim on another phone to see if can make call? or how about test with another sim on the F3 to see if still can/cannot make calls.

do all that to rule out whether it is firstly sim problem, or phone problem.. then phone problem got could be a software bug or could be a hardware problem also..


can firstly go into CIT menu to see if your phone able to read the sim info, dial *#*#6484#*#* aka *#*#MIUI#*#*

You got the 6/128 @1189. I thought you got the 8/256 @ 1189 thats why i said nice price..

Anyway, previously i bought from poco OS (but on lazada) it took about 8 days to arrive from HK to my doorstep.. So yours should be about 1 week also

uhh which phone's hype wont be gone after 8 months being released?

and you expect an 8 month old phone to still be sold out during sales? That means the phone must be so godlike that 8 months later people still scalping it..

only 1 month warranty want 1k? and on blue colour, arguably the least popular?

can get brand new for 1.4k leh..
