I think someone should test this out and see the real diff between mi turbo charger triggered vs not triggered {quick charge} . Maybe the diff is not that much.
*
Mi turbo charge from 15% to 100% about 45m

Quick charge from 12% to 100% about 1h8m

Sure it will degrade faster than normal charge, but the degardation is not so fast for current type of battery compare to older one. To me it's better to use the turbo charge to save time unless you want to charge it overnight, so can use normal charge. Just avoid to completely drained the battery to 0% as it will reduce the battery life. Ideal battery charge level is between 20-80%.

it's like double speed of fast charging. 33w is not considered very fast, and xiaomi original battery is also affordable compare to Samsung battery.

The pd port is full 45w. I can confirm some ppl tried it for some laptops.

But Xiaomi 33w isn't pd charging.

PD port on this powerbank max out at 40W, which is a pain in the a** for charging laptop as it may trigger the popup of under wattage charger. They should had bumped it to 45W instead...

Xiaomi’s 33W charging is based on 11Vx3A, which isn’t a standard covered by PD. Perhaps a PPS charger like that of Samsung can trigger the 11V.

I have :

65W PD/QC car charger - MI10 trigger QC @ 1% per min

100W Xiaomi car charger - MI10 trigger Turbo Charge @ >1% per min (very2 fast)

For cable , you need cable that is spec for 5A. Best is get those with E-mark as those confirm support 100W power

For Mi Turbo , you need the charger to support PD & PPS charging. I can confirm this

Thanks guys. Learnt something today, looks like PPS is the keyword and you need a power supply that supports it to trigger mi turbo. This is further confirmed in this chinese article (found via reddit)https://www.chongdiantou.com/wp/archives/35962.html

Edit: Scratch that, reading the article further some PPS chargers does not trigger the handshake for mi turbo unless you plug in a compatible one first tongue.gif

i never own xiaomi phone but last time I heard was less than RM 100. I've been using Samsung phones for a decade, battery price of note 8 is RM 188 (not include labor charge)

it depends on your usage. If you like to play games and take photos, definitely go for 8+256gb. If you use it to watch videos and browsing, 6+128gb is totally enough. I migrated apps from my old phone and already filled up 99.9gb of storage.

Keyword is 11V, you need a powerbank or charger that can charge at 11V, and it’s gonna be rare.

That's the 33w or higher one? Xiaomi is using both 11v3a and 20v3.2a. Other brands got their own custom powerbanks yet Xiaomi doesn't I don't understand their reasoning.

I seen somewhere in Russians ads mcdodo with multi charge powerbanks can run mi turbo since I couldn't see the model number I tried the one I got that can charge oneplus Huawei oppo. Its still unfortunately just quick charge.

Edit: I found this. I already got older gen Huawei powerbank that one I can confirm it can't mi turbo. If anyone got this model pls give it a try

Here is the spec of Huawei powerbank 20v3.25a that is one of the mi turbo faster speed one. Not sure about 11v6a since xiaomi is 3a

Most phone can’t do upright 20V charging, as it will generate insane amount of heat. That’s why when you charge your Xiaomi with these 45-100W charger, they still can’t turbo-charge.

Thus, optimal fast/turbo charging will likely keep within 10-15V so it can balance out the heat and charging rate. Factor in the fact that typical cable is rated for only 3A, that will mean the wattage is typically between 30-45W.

Though for Samsung, they opted for 4.5A charging with 10V PPS, hence their 45W. And because of the 4.5A, they will need to use e-marker 5A rated cable.

For this case (actually it started since last year’s Mi10 vanilla, the use of 33W charging), we can see that Xiaomi’s turbo charge is based on 11V3A. So technically speaking, the huawei powerbank you shown above with 11V6A can actually Turbo charge it. But ultimately, these fast charge protocol need to have compliances on both device, cable and charger/powerbank, so I’m won’t give guarantee that this Huawei charger will have Xiaomi’s Turbo charge compliance...

P/S: Apparently even when using 33/65W Xiaomi charger, most Xiaomi devices still charge at 9V, paired with 3A will mean 27W. So that mean even using stock chargers also Xiaomi decides unlikely to utilise the 11V3A protocol.
