QUOTE(White2000 @ Feb 8 2023, 02:58 PM) Security update is 2 or 3 years for F3? Means around March 2023 should be the last update? This year is the last Android update for the F3 which is Android 13 (with MiUi 14). We'll still get MiUi 15 next year but remain on Android 13. Security updates should still be ongoing throughout 2024. 2025 and beyond will most likely cease all updates if I'm not wrong. This post has been edited by SwarmTroll: Feb 9 2023, 01:28 AM

QUOTE(derthvadar @ Feb 10 2023, 02:27 AM) My hand so itchy to grab the Galaxy S23 but this F3 is still going strong for my daily usage. Maybe wait for Android 13 (MiUi 14) update? MiUi 14 on Android 13 should make the F3 even snappier if it already isn't since it's built to be lighter and more streamlined. However, we will probably be left out on features (again) since the Chinese ROM always gets the best goodies... sigh. On stock, the F3 still has atleast another 2 years of life.

QUOTE(judie999 @ Feb 13 2023, 10:49 PM) Today i concluded it is hardware problem already 2 days ago i did full reset and problem never reoccurred... until today. damn any idea which hardware problem is it? Is it board issue? wanna know worst case how much for repair ... else need to say goodbye to poco Unfortunately I can't say, you'll have to send it to the service centre to identify the culprit. Give them a call to get a quote but I think it costs about RM500 for a new motherboard. If they identify the issue and it is the motherboard, probably best to consider another new phone. :/

QUOTE(Optizorb @ Feb 14 2023, 01:45 AM) how old is your F3 btw? yes send to SC let them check and confirm on what's the issue, after find out only then think how to proceed, whether repair or whatever. if you very lucky, could even get it fixed for free if they determined it was manufacturing defect. you can try make noise and let your dissatisfaction be known also if your phone is like very new. complain about your lemon unit, see what they can do about it. btw F3 motherboard = 1.5k not 500. crazy. more expensive than the whole phone itself. if really motherboard spoil and need replace is totally not worth it. https://www.mi.com/my/support/guidance/materialprice/I've had my F3 since launch, got it on April 2021 so it's about 2 years old. 0 issues thus far, fingers crossed. I saw that maintenance list too but I'm not sure if it's accurate, RM1.5k just for the motherboard is insane, considering the entire 6GB/128GB phone was RM1.3k a whole two years ago. I looked online for other sources and it seems to range around RM500 to RM700. He will need to call the service center to confirm the actual quote.

QUOTE(Optizorb @ Feb 14 2023, 01:50 AM) F4 screen > F3 screen but F3 speakers > F4 speakers. F4 speakers quite underwhelming. The F3's speakers on the other hand is damn good, even better than premium flagships. guess reviewer also agree The speakers are better? Interesting, I thought they would reuse most parts. I was surprised that the display was apparently brighter than the F3 even though they are both E4 Amoled. Plus Dolby Vision support too. This post has been edited by SwarmTroll: Feb 14 2023, 02:54 AM

QUOTE(judie999 @ Feb 14 2023, 09:26 PM) I'm able to retrieve the IMEI. Phone still can use but intermittently Just came back from SPR phone shop. Was quoted RM420 to repair the board, and it will take up to 1 week+ They said its hard to diagnose as need to troubleshoot 1 by 1 to identify the root cause. may i ask you guys opinion is it worth to repair? If you don't have plans to flash Custom ROMs in future, I would suggest to use the money towards another phone as official support has already gone through 2 years. Do check with Xiaomi service centre too as Optizorb mentioned.

QUOTE(White2000 @ Feb 16 2023, 11:52 AM) Lowyat one is still operating, that's where I went to replace my F3 screen recently. They changed location tho according to my friend who frequents there, but still at highest floor where the usual service centers for various tech brands located. How much $ to replace the screen? I'm wondering if I should swap to a new battery soon, battery health currently at 83%.

QUOTE(White2000 @ Feb 16 2023, 02:09 PM) RM348 for screen + RM60 labor - RM30 diagnostic (RM 30 paid when handing over your phone). I didn't replace battery but official service center follows standard prices so RM48.86, but likely 49+30+30 when in your bill. IE: Official screen price is RM347.90 but charged 348+30+30. https://www.mi.com/my/support/guidance/materialprice/Oh nice, your new display has no green tint haha? RM110 for battery charge, hmmm... will consider once battery health drops below 80%. Your price quoted seems to be the same as online link you shared, which means replacing motherboard really is RM1.5k... phewww.

If anyone is using stock MiUi and Poco Launcher, I just realised you have to download and install apk manually for latest Poco Launcher 2.0 Version 4.39 as the original is removed from Playstore and no longer updates. New version launched 6 months ago and only now I found out. Definitely smoother and more stable than previous Poco Launcher but has certain downsides like third party icons cannot be used unless it's from 'Themes'. No bugs that I can see thus far. Here is the link if anyone is interested. This post has been edited by SwarmTroll: Feb 17 2023, 12:09 AM

QUOTE(dingoyat @ Feb 16 2023, 10:49 PM) any case recommend ? the back glass always broke I change 2 times Ringke Fusion X; great rugged case, used for two years and dropped plenty of times. Only one single dent on the corner of the phone, front and back glass unscathed. Currently using Nillkin Camshield Pro with added rear camera cover. Seems quite protective too but not as good as the Ringke, i.e. smaller corner impact absorbers and lower front case clearance, upside is that it feels less bulky.

QUOTE(Rudd @ Feb 17 2023, 11:04 AM) I used ringke fusion x before, my back glass cracked when falling from waist level. Still haven't replaced the back glass. Damn, tough luck sometimes. I had a Spigen Rugged Armour for my Poco F1 before, that couldn't protect my screen from cracking either. Crack resistant but not crack proof I guess LOL.

QUOTE(axxer @ Feb 25 2023, 03:54 AM) Did u have volte enabled? If u have volte then u can just force vowifi by dialing *#*#869434#*#* Basically it'll force vowifi swith to appear in Xiaomi phone setting regardless of telco support. Obviously also need telco support at their end too for it to actually work. After dialing the code then the vowifi toggle will appear in phone settings, enable it and see if vowifi icon appear in status bar. Then check by dialing out and receiving call. Test for a few days, see if your contacts complain can't reach u or not. If they complain then can redial the code again to reenable default behavior. I did the same and it works fine. Contacted maxis cs to enable volte and vowifi but only volte enabled, vowifi switch doesn't appear on phone settings. Did the code, vowifi toggle appeared, i turned it on and tested for a week or 2. Now I've reset it to default behavior again and the vowifi toggle stays and vowifi still works. So Maxis VoWifi is working perfectly fine on your F3 with this workaround, no buggy encounters?

QUOTE(TheMrBinary @ Feb 27 2023, 12:25 PM) 2 weeks ago, my F3 suddenly shutdown and can't be turn on or charge. Plug on PC no signal. Can't boot to recovery and fastboot mode. Luckily still have warranty (March 2023 lol). Decided to send my phone to Service centre @ MidValley. They said need to replace the main board. Data all will be gone. 3 days later they called me to pickup the phone. A bit sad all my data can't be saved. Just happy the service is free of charge. Reminder to all to backup your data everyday. Edit : My phone bootloader is unlocked with custom ROM. They still accepted it for warranty. Your phone was only one year old? Damn, hope this is an outlier incident. In Reddit, the X3 Pro was having so many reports of the phone dying suddenly from motherboard failure. The F3 was far and few between.

QUOTE(kiritoffx @ Feb 27 2023, 05:40 PM) Just checked..my warranty just expired jan this year...hope nothing happen..kind of scare. My last note 5 last almost 5 years till hardware problem. Change it I had a Note 5 too, until the display started bleeding purple about 3 years in lmao. To be honest, if my F3 dies with a motherboard failure too soon, my next phone won't be Poco anymore.

QUOTE(axxer @ Feb 25 2023, 01:08 PM) So far it works fine. Can't say not buggy at all because i rarely make or take calls but when i did, it works. Did the number dial and after it says 'VoWifi checking disabled', the VoWifi option appeared in settings. Enabled it but VoWifi doesn't work, guess I gotta ring Maxis.

QUOTE(axxer @ Feb 27 2023, 10:18 PM) Thats what I've already said. Of course need to call telco cs first and ask them to enable vowifi at their end. The switch can't magically make wovifi work without telco vowifi sip server. I called and they said it's already activated on their end. I already had VoLTE working before so they mentioned that VoWifi shares the same profile so it should work. However I'm still unable to get VoWifi working by using airplane mode. Are you on latest MiUi 13?

QUOTE(axxer @ Feb 27 2023, 11:03 PM) Well not me personally, did that on my mom Xiaomi. What they said should be right, volte shared some tech with vowifi and if you already got maxis volte working, vowifi should be working too. Just that Xiaomi whitelist which telco to allow vowifi via the toggle. The ussd code only bypass the whitelist and show it on all sim without check. Did it even work without airplane mode, like does the vowifi icon appear in status bar? Maxis vowifi is weird not like digi vowifi that can use while roaming outside malaysia to bypass incoming call charges by using vowifi in airplane mode. Maybe try with other wifi in case your wifi is the problem. Try with kfc mcd wifi or office wifi or something. I just tried on my own xiaomi, not the f3 but 11t, maxis vowifi still work in airplane mode can dial the 123 and hear the bot cs greeting but I'm not roaming. Do both VoLTE and VoWifi appear in the status bar at the same time? I've always only ever had VoLTE appear. Well then I will have to try with some other WiFi to see if there is a difference.
