Can I assume Disney+ Hotstar and Disney+ are two different thing even though they offer similar content?
What I see is they use different app and maintain a separate customer database.

Disney+ Hotstar seems to be the version offered to developing countries such as India and Indonesia and Disney+ Hotstar account cannot be used to login into Disney+ and vice versa.

For those who uses Playstation 4/5, Disney+ Hotstar support won't be available.

Yes, you're correct. In fact, Disney+ Hotstar also offers local and vernacular content. Although, it's kind of a bummer that it only supports HD quality and up to 2 devices concurrently.

Ahh...that's a bummer then, i also believe Astro plays a part in determining the pricing for our market since they have to "protect" their own subscribers & rice bowl considering the fact that Disney+ Hotstar is available at a much cheaper rate in India and Indonesia

India - Rs 1,499 year - approx RM89/year

Malaysia RM54.9/3 months = RM18.3/month - RM219/year

I wished they had similar subscription plan like netflix instead of trying to segregrate them into different market using different app

In India both LG and Samsung supporting Disney+ Hotstar as native update.. kind of bad planning when it's 1 year waiting

Fyi, that reply is from October 2018 & it was for Hotstar app not Disney+ Hotstar.
Disney+ for India was launched on March 2020.

..but ya, they still don't have any plan to release D+H app for PS or XBOX..

Just to double confirm, you are saying the disney+ Hotstar app can browse and found in google play store via TM Android Box (black color box), and I can download and install into that android box and watch in TV?

Yes provided your Google log in account is created in US

It is available now on Android TV device for Malaysia user so it should also available on Unifi Plus Box.
Try searching for Disney or Hotstar in the Google Play Store & the search results will show the Disney+ Hotstar by Novi Digital



The app now can be installed but it shows error at the moment since the service is not available yet.
Need to wait till 1st June 2021.

Google US account is required for Disney+ US not Disney+ Hotstar(D+H)
For D+H Malaysia, just need to use local Google Malaysia account.

Can you confirm we can only watch 2 screen/devices at the same time?

Anyone find the video quality is bad? Kinda intermittent low and medium quality, and we cant even choose the quality of some of the video (e.g cars). I try to stream from a browser "friendly streaming" usually use to stream Netflix with no problem with the quality.

Apparently there is no Malaysia/Indonesian app for the Tizen based OS. But... the Indian Tizen store do have Hotstar, so maybe VPN to india and try to install from there?

Currently running it on my MiTV 4s. Smooth as butter and the 4k is really crisp as well. Avengers Endgame running at 88Mbps bitrate on average. Still not much content though. Maybe soon.

Weird, when i using my mobile phone to activate, then it can. Maybe I just being lucky just now. Previously using laptop to try, non is successful.
