You ever change before? Did workshop share with you how to know ori or counterfeit?
RM950 change all 4 spark coils & 4 spark plugs, atleast 1 time solving the problem.

My Grand Livina inherit from my sis, that's y lots parts changes history is unknown (if u know how lady do car service). 2 biji is counterfeit, the workshop owner shown me when open up the engine cover, another 2 is ori Bosch, but due to the huge difference of voltage, hence the car keep jerking.

Yeah, at least solve 1 of the problem, and now need move to rear absorber replacement sad.gif

I changed both rear absorber few years ago so i believe chances due to absorber is less.
*
The worst case will be the axle, let's see what the workshop recommend after diagnose

Any owner of 1.8 (year 2009-2011) mind check & share your GL rpm value

With aircond OFF,  when gear at
- "P", rpm = ?
- "N", rpm = ?
- "D" & car not moving, rpm = ?

With aircond ON, when gear at "D" & car not moving,
- aircond compressor kick in, rpm = ?
- aircond compressor not kick in, rpm = ?
*
Mine is 1.8 year 2008

With aircond OFF, when gear at
- "P", rpm = 0.5 - 0.8k
- "N", rpm = same as above
- "D" & car not moving, rpm = 0.8k to 1k

With aircond ON, when gear at "D" & car not moving,
- aircond compressor kick in, rpm = 0.8 to 1k
- aircond compressor not kick in, rpm = jump to 1.5k then go back to 1k after kick in

After sending into workshop for 3 days, the boss told me that - he only tighten up all parts from axle bush to absorber, then the noise gone

Total cost = RM20

Thanks for sharing.
"aircond compressor not kick in, rpm = jump to 1.5k then go back to 1k after kick in"
Seem rpm very high, ever do rpm setting by workshop?

According to manual for 1.8, rpm should be 700 (+50 or -50) at "idle speed at the "N" (Neutral) position". I belleve for aging car might be slight higher bit because usually outside workshop may set rpm up bit to minimise car shaky feel.

Last year my itchy hand tried reset ECU of my 1.8 (2009) by follow step shared by nissan car user from US website, after few trial rpm resetted, and the rpm mostly around 600-850, lately saw some web info if rpm too low or too high than engine spec might cause harm to engine.
*
Thanks for the highlight, i believe that was caused by the kick in, it is actually up to 1.5k, not fixed 1.5k, so most of the time it only slightly went up like 0.1 to 0.3 which is not significant.

Never did the rpm reset before, i saw someone shared the TY on how to do the reset before, but i don't think i need to do it for now smile.gif

Hi guys. Need some advice. I was wondering. Is it worth to get a 1.6 manual? Not sure which version. The 2015 looks nice. But price i may not be able to afford. May consider the 2013

I already have Almera. Fuel consumption is very good.
Just wondering if there is any major issue i should pay attn. I always wanted a Hatchback/wagon. X-gear dont have manual transmission, sadly. Or i should just stick to my Almera.

Thanks in advance.
*
Mine is 1.8, so far the fuel consumption is good, roughly 10.xx km/L for city drive, 12 - 14 km/L if highway, 1.6 maybe can achieve better FC in city drive, but not sure how is the highway drive.

I would say the maintenance is quite ok compare to other brands, and the parts also quite easy to find also, even in online platform.

The only problem is, not much workshop willing to put effort to troubleshoot the problem if any, due to the design of the inner part, too much of covers, and the mechanic needs to unscrew lots to take out the cover - that's my experience at the outside workshop.

Want to ask. I have a 2012 GL 1.8L. I noticed that when the gear is around second or third gear,  it seems to slip as in when I press the pedal it takes a bit of time to engage, hence feels like a momentarily loss of power. I've changed the spark plug and coil plug, and cleaned the throttle body but the problem persist. Other than that, normal driving is OK its just that nagging issue when the car slows down around a turn and when I need to accelerate that I face this issue.

Also, would be it weird if I upgrade my tyres to 195/70/R15, 70 hoping for more comfort?
*
Does the symptoms is like
- Morning engine starts, from P to D, it takes few seconds (starts from like 1-2 seconds, and become longer over the time)?
- When shift gear, it will like "slip" and not engage to the next level it suppose, and the time it takes become longer (like the 1st point)?

If your car have above symptoms, then it is mostly the gearbox issue, as my car also face the same issue last year

What had i done to solve the issue
1. Full change gear fluid, some workshop will only change partial (2 bottle instead 4 iinm), just do full flush and fill with brand new ATF, my recommendation is get the genuine unit to ensure that you had eliminate the factor
2. Gear treatment oil, there are a lot of brands in the market, from RM30 to few hundred, get a reputation brand or from the workshop that you trust and add it into your gearbox, unless you are familiar with car structure, you will need workshop engineer to assist on this.
3. The worst case - gearbox issue, which above 2 cant solve the issue after a week or 2, then you are in bad luck, the problem may only can fix by gearbox overhaul or replacement, the cost will be from RM 3k depends on the area you in.

For the points 1 and 2, you need to drive the car for a week or 2 to let to "recover", you can feel the problem is resolving (the "slide" time will reduced over the time and gone eventually)

Hope that above long story can helps you biggrin.gif

Good luck mate!
