V Spec City comes with Reflector LED and the light throw seems very near, same goes to the new Myvi and Bezza.

Even the current HRV comes with Reflector LED not Projector LED like before which the light seems weak and the light throw is so near.

This i concur. Mine g9 accord 2.4 cw projector led headlamp. My friend g9.5 facelift accord 2.4, cw LED reflector headlamp.

Yes compared side to side, the projector light output much better than reflector. But on visual, reflector headlamp look great when turn on

So far, I only compared to those lower end car models like Myvi, Bezza and City, HRV.

Those car default LED reflector are not as bright and the light throw is not as far as i thought it would be. I've seens some couples of Merc using Reflector LED and it seems quite bright and the light is quite far as well,

It could be that the LED's in those budget car is really cheap in cost and since now every manufacturer is giving the LED light hype as standard, this will attract many non-LED's car owner to buy the car.

I think the one u saw the Mercedes which kinda look like reflector is called Multibeam LED. Those are expansive and has great light output. And it can control the beam using the headlights motor/controller/ module

Those small car like Myvi is using a simple single LED. They will be great is they opted for projector type Headlamp+led. Btw based own experience, i find that HID lights output is better than LED. Maybe for sake of life, manufacturers nowadays choose LED

As i understand from CSB, HID projector has a shorter lifespan in terms of the bulb/ballast compared to LED.

HID heat on the bulbs itself will burn/damage the shrouds (due to heats and UV from the bulbs) within a specific hours (lets say 1,000 hours/3- 5 years), then the light projection will be weaker.

LED on the other hand will not burn/damage the shrouds (heats not at the chips but at the driver and no UV from LEDs) therefore in a longer terms, LED projector should have lesser issue and the brightness should have maintain bright throughout the ownership of the owner.

Just dont bang/crack your front lamp, expensive oh biggrin.gif

TS, is your car tinted? Maybe the tint too dark.
Philips ZES is good. Bright and low power.

If use LED bulb, make sure to set the lamp height correctly.
When done, stand in front your own car with the lights on make sure you don't punish other drivers.

there are some aftermarket scuh as Philips brand LED are created for reflector headlamp in purpose.. But installation should done by professional..

However, not recommend to use LED headlight especially aftermarket one, cause the output is dark and not usable during rainy night.
appearance looks good with eyes.. however, vision from car inside is poor..

Last time it was famous with HID set that cw anti glare shield. But most user feedback it not work greatly on reducing glare. Back to basic, it need HID/LED set of headlamp to work with. If it is halogen headlamps, it work only with Halogen

Correct.. if existing is halogen headlamp, either reflector or projector, go with halogen bulb. Cheap and almost standard price.

A lot of low quality aftermarket led bulb and sell to people that wish to have a change. Basically burn your pocket money for no reason..

Cant wait to test Perodua Ativa (LED headlamp), sounded like Matrix LED (Audi) where it will auto adjust the beam and brightness depending on opposite car distance.

It is not like an Audi. It just similar to x50/x70/ mazda car where if u choose this auto high beam on, it will on the high beam and off when detect the opposite car in front and back on after car passed.

But for me I rather use it manually because been used this way.

But I saw a video from WapCar promoting that Perodua Ativa most likely has an Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) which is unlike those X50/X70/Mazda car that is auto high beam when it detects opposite car in front.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQjhQUlhfaE

**I failed to insert the youtube link.

Based on the video, Perodua Ativa (ADB) seems to be similar to Audi Matrix LED whereby the brightness of each reflector panel will on/off or bright/dim adaptively when it detects opposite car in front.

I might be wrong as the video is in Japanese.

High quality aftermarket LED maybe makes a difference but I doubt any big differences..if it's halogen bulb originally comes with your car..stick with it..u can upgrade to high performance halogen bulb but it gonna cost u at least Rm100 n above n it doesn't last long.
