Layman terms:
AOD was bad last time due to affecting battery life (when it started to be implemented in android)
Now, the AOD is good because battery life is not affected (battery usage is negligible)

Also heard about amoled display rip faster due to AOD despite pixel shifting protection (lighted more frequently= higher wear and tear).

Just buy the snapdragon samsung next year hahahaha

Imo don't buy samsung unless samsung can get their ribbon cable qc right

Ribbon cable qc poor > screen flicker, green tint, whiteout, green/pink line(s), screen eventually dead, warranty if lucky, if unlucky gg wallet

Get iphone, more peace of mind although their oled also got chance to fail as well

Other makers also oled screen start failing like oneplus 8 series and those same period with s20 too


Conclusion, ultimate way is go IPS LCD . The best screen around just phone makers got tricked by samseng oled



Why i say snapdragon is not absolutely safe

Many cases of screen failing as well in china, hong kong, taiwan, us etc, those market are snapdragon version, you can go see reddit, mobile01 or respective social media/forum see

Is this screen failure something new? I asked because my wife's Note3 and Note8 don't hv this screen problem. She's still using the latter.

Note 9 when this problem exactly start widespread after 1 or 2 years, gg need fork out 900 or so to replace

But this problem also can happen to s7edge, s9 etc although rarely happened

After replacing, is the IP68 rating still intact?

Ip68 thing is no guarantee anymore

Also s20 series another problem, back side glue no more stick, cause back side become loose, in this case ip68 is completely out of the table
