Seeing all the green/white screen of death posts lately, my phone feels like a ticking time bomb now

managed to slow down the flicker but the display still looked greenish.

Seems like it's a matter of time. If you're not planning to fix, think of what phone to get next haha.

woke up and it got worse. touch screen no response.

rm1000 to fix or get a midrange which is around rm1000-rm2000

Do you guys think it's a manufacturing defect since the most cases I read online the phones are early production units? If so Samsung really hoped and prayed that it won't turn out like the Note 7 battery fiasco. Lucky for them it only happened after 2 years this time.

Lol I actually thought my phone might explode at some point when the screen died cause it was overheating like crazy...

Yeah I noticed my phone also became weirdly hot when I just turn the screen on without obviously doing anything.

Ok, I join the screen of white/green screen of death league for my s20ultra, it start showing flickering and change of colour on and off for past 2 weeks, and now officially death...

Aiyo... how old is your phone? Lodge a complaint. It's just absurd.

I suppose 20 models screen problems is likely due to LCM controller or display ribbon cable failure due to prolonged overheating (exynos might be one of factor, but don't forget others like climate/environment, battery charging etc)

Possibly also the reason why samsung purposely want throttle the performance of newer phones with bs GOS bloatware

Off topic a bit: my s10 lite (also 2020 model) also suffered from similar screen flickering/BSOD failure within months and I had to sent it for warranty on early 2021. Until now still fine the screen. However some 20 users ran out of luck due to screen failure AFTER normal warranty expired (samsung may know this so for next time preorder give care plus warranty package bundle with preorder freebies like 22 series now)

Half a month to 2 years, this is the shortest lifespan samsung phone I ever had since Galaxy S2! Gosh

no wonder display replacement cost rm1000. they also change the body of the phone. display + aluminium body = rm900 + labour cost

Isn't it just the front panel? Don't think they changed my aluminium body.

Before got scratch on the body, now its gone + covered with plastic protector.

The staff told me they change front panel and body. Only rear glass they used it back.


I should have ask them to change my battery.

I dont plan to replace, I dont trust after repair it will last as well, and screen replacement is not cheap. I looking at S22U now...
