Recently i tested this Sumaxx max drifting tires for 1.5 weeks.

About the tire:
Threadwear 300, tire thread pattern like yokohama ad08r, stiff sidewall, no humming sound like semi slick tires.
Bought rm200 per piece for 195/50/16 inch.

Very grippy in dry. Road feedback very good, handling corner tight tight. Grip i would say its definitely better than michelin ps3. Wet grip at 110km/h still confident to change lane.

Dry grip much much better than my previous tire. Using rovelo sport A1, 160km/h i already have the uncomfortable pit in my stomach and i will drive very far away from the front car. With this sumaxx tires, drive till 220km/h also still confident. 240km/h then only bola hilang.

Conclusion:
Cheap and cheerful tire for car enthusiast. Very much recommended for spirited driver. But need to be more careful in wet road since the tire pattern is quite aggresive.
Ps: drive fast but carefully ya.

I doubted it too at first.

My first try on no brand tire was the rovelo sport A1. Supposingly better than toyo T1R. Nope, its badddd.
This is my second try on no brand tire and I was really impressed with the grip for the price point.

Tires I had tried so far.

Toyota corolla AE101 with 4AGE blacktop engine, 6 speed manual 165 hp - Dunlop D05, Michelin PS3, Toyo T1R.
Nissan Sentra B13 with SR20VE 20V, 6 speed manual 225 hp - Rovelo sport A1, Sumaxx Max drifting (current).

To be fair, most probably the michelin PS3 has better wet grip than the sumaxx.

+1. Tyres are the only contact between the car and the road. No point stinge on tyres, always go for the best. U will nvr know when u need ur tyre the most, so always have the best.

Rather get a low budget phone and spend the rest of the money on a better tyres if i cant afford it.

again .. i agree with most here .. if budget permits .. go with the proven n tested tyres like conti, michelin, yokohama.. etc

reason im going these sumaxx, rovelo, accelera, zestino is purely due to tracking and drifting events.. u burn ur ttyres faster than anyting else smile.gif

Good for you TS. Don’t care about those who are skeptical on China made tyres. Let them continue to buy high price Michelins etc.

Another brand you can try is Altenzo which has been around for quite some time.

I used to run Achilles ATR Sport that came with the car and it was pretty good tbh even with all the bashing I got when I refused to switch until I used it proper enough. It was kinda fun tbh being able to lose the back end ever so slightly.

And then I switched to PS4 last year and the grip is so immense that it has become a tad bit boring haha. Amazing tires though. After trying the PS4 and PS3, I doubt I’ll be able to opt for anything else after this. Bloody expensive for 18s though.

I think for overall performance. Meaning low noise, good wear rate, good grip dry n wet, etc best should be michelin ps4 d. Only bad is price factor, quite expensive.

If you are like me, dont care noise, dont care so much wear rate, only wan super dry grip, acceptable wet and cheap. Then can try this sumaxx. Basically all i care about is grip and price.

In comparison, i think in dry grip my sumaxx should be same or better than your ps4. I cant be sure but im comparing with ps3, and the sumaxx feels much grippier in dry grip than ps3.

For your size, sumaxx can get for rm210. Yours rm350 per tire.

Anyone using DeeStone tyres? Vincente.

Used twice now and pretty good.

Cheap, good dry & wet grip, low noice and lasting.

Going for Deestone RA01 once there's stocks. Wanted for a long time now.

I've tried PS3, Conti, Dunlop, Bridgestone turanza...allokay but not lasting and pricey.

Still Deestone is more affordable and good performing so far.

For pickup truck on 15" steelies
I used Goodride once. Cheap.. 235 per piece. Dry grip OK
But economy wise it just botak too fast. Way too fast. Couple years already botak.

99% (traded in with whiskers) bridgestone HT from stock hilux rim or Yokohama AT lasted much longer. Especially AT tyre since its thicker tread than HT. It still has 70% remaining even after couple years.

-----

For small ride of maivee/mirage class 185/55/15
Had excellent experience with PS2, stiff sidewall, precise cornering, wet grip wub.gif
Goodyear NCT5, meh.
Yokohama Parada Spec2.. soft sidewall, mushy feel in corner, dry grip OK, wet grip so so

Then after getting mirage
Ecopia hopeless tyre, dry grip also activate ABS when stopping for red light puke.gif
PS3 first set wub.gif can use until 0% (legal limit) still feel safe in drizzles
PS3 second set (currently) wub.gif

-----

For poorfag cruising on old camry 16"
Yokohama C drive, dry grip OK, wet grip scary when almost bald even driving 0-30
Falken ZE912, meh. Cost more than toyo. Grip is not there if its not nice hot sunny day.
Toyo NE03 fronts and shift Falken to the back, grip is more predictable, all rounder general use tyre.
Got a set of 50% Primacy 3 with used 17" newer model camry rims, everything is good wub.gif but of course won't fight PS3/4, but for general use and occasional spirited driving it suffices.
Next change maybe consider GY F1 Sport or just go with Primacy 4/ PS4. Primacy 4 only 20 bucks diff per tyre with GY F1 Sport.

Saw some ER33 bridgestone but AFAIK these were standard OEM tyre from Toyota, I never used before but I think its kinda overpriced for the brand but performance like NE03? Anyone can comment? I had bad experience with Ecopia

Threadwear 300, tire thread pattern like yokohama ad08r, stiff sidewall, no humming sound like semi slick tires.

I see the availability of size is pretty limited from their site.
Only 1 model for 18 inch rim.

Question, if PS3 is good enough for dry but much better than this on wet, is this really worth it?

well, judging from the spec, should be nice budget tyre for dry grip.
looks like no silica compund and AD08R type of thread makes it less wet grip which translate to layman term not suitable for family car.
anyway good sharing ts. bookmarked and will recommend for others.
