You know, I've been wondering. Since these hedge funds can trade with each other to make the price drop for any stock (like what they're doing to GME) and influence emotional retailers to get scared and sell further, then does that mean that we have been manipulated 99% of the time and there's no way to prevent them from destroying more business and stealing ppl money in the future?
This is so rigged especially since all these big corps have big cash, and they can also rake in big cash and continue bullying small peeps thru using money for gaining insider information or user behavior.
How do you be profitable consistently then 🤔🤔

I think if you are small fry, earning not too much, keeping a low profile. Then they will will not bother you. That is why you always heard people who day trade, don't set a stop loss, or a limit order, use a mental stop loss, and hotkeys to enter a trade. Because your broker will sell your information to the market maker etc. Because if they know what price u are targeting, they can manipulate it to hit the majority people's stop loss before rebounding.

GME shorts have not begun to close their positions in substantial numbers. the situation (1/28 5 PM ET):
short interest: 100% of float by Ortex, 123.25% of float by S3 Shortsight change in short share availability: +9,000 robinhood and other brokerages relying on Citadel stopped accepting buy orders on stocks which Citadel wants to allow its hedge funds to unwind from. Robinhood is apparently going so far as to liquidate GME shares in accounts that are not using margin trading(!) If you're still on robinhood, you should find a new broker ASAP. Retail brokers who didn't stab their clients in the back include: vanguard td ameritrade fidelity
