Hi, just wanna hear from some on the above! How lasting is the ignition coils of your car before you need replacement? Does it affect your car 's ECU to cause permanent damage?

Not sure why, but most conti have ignition coil problem around 5 year +/- but Japanese can last. Never change any ignition coil for all my Japs - Nissan, Mazda, Toyotas, thr closest thst need to change are just coil plugs every 3-5 years

Does it affect your car 's ECU to cause permanent damage? Depends on what car. My 2008 Mark X already around 150-160k km are still using original coils. However on my previous crappy Livina, I needed to replace them TWICE within just 80k km! First time was just around 50k km, just a shitty car!As for effect on ECU, no damage whatsoever if your COP goes bad. QUOTE(dwRK @ Jan 25 2021, 09:00 PM) Huh, which Swift you have? The ZC21 or ZC31? My ZC31 still running fine but not sure if previous owner had replaced it before or not, looks like still original. |
