Don't count them out yet. Pat Gelsinger is coming back. Could be like the revival of their fortunes 2-3 years down the road

not 4-6 years at the very least? intel have issues with leadership (which pat will hopefully fix), architecture and node process (will probably have to do agreement with tsmc)

Exactly.

Don't ever count Intel out.

Only this year they're going to be moving full steam ahead for 10nm desktop CPUs (apparently Xeon already started).

In terms of gaming performance, Intel is still giving AMD a run for its money albeit the gap is minimal now with AMD 5000 series.

Last time AMD roll over Intel..until introduction of Conroe

With their old 14nm they can still catch up with 7nm Ryzen (single core) despite higher power consumption

Just wait and see Alder Lake in 2nd half of 2021
Tiger Lake did ok with 10nm..maybe Alder Lake can produce surprise

But Apple M1 have set a high standard to follow
Seems ARM now can match X86
Both Intel and AMD must react to retain their leadership

And yes new CEO may turn things around

Look, I am counting on Intel to recover because if not, AMD will be the new intel

You need the competition for the best stuff and value to flow back to the consumers

1. Selow and lose hp market
2. Own market got overtaken by competitors
3. Architecture Revolution, ARM the future for consumers? More and more making own chips

I was looking to buy new laptop, and need good processor. Decided on 2nd hand laptop with i7 8750h. Really bang for buck. Looking at benchmark of i7 8750h with 9th gen and 10th gen, 8th gen still win. If only i had a bit more money, i could go with r5 4600h.

In a leaked email I read months ago, it seems oldtards still pushing 14nm for years (same people working in 14nm) mostly India team that stubbornly refuse to move away. They find it comforting to stick and update 14nm...

Until recently Bob Swan push more team members for 10nm but production yield issues really giving Intel a headache. 2021 hopefully will see this improve and by end of 2021, we should have 10nm Intel CPU for desktop.
