Intel's bread and butter, cashcow, x86 for server getting eaten up day by day. All the big tech firms are making their own chips, market is moving towards fragmentation like the 1980s. With apple M1 showing what ARM can achieve, sooner or later QCOM and MTK gonna make laptop processors that are fast enough for day to day use.
This is not something that AMD or INTC can fix easily. They need to try harder. I'd put my money on TSMC. They will be laughing all the way to bank making chips for whoever that wants it. |

QUOTE(Games For Windows @ Jan 21 2021, 10:57 PM) In a leaked email I read months ago, it seems oldtards still pushing 14nm for years (same people working in 14nm) mostly India team that stubbornly refuse to move away. They find it comforting to stick and update 14nm... Yes, Intel problem is mostly production issue. It also depend on company culture. I doubt a single team can be responsible for the fate of a multi billion dollar company. lolUntil recently Bob Swan push more team members for 10nm but production yield issues really giving Intel a headache. 2021 hopefully will see this improve and by end of 2021, we should have 10nm Intel CPU for desktop. But oldtards really just want to do their own thing and pretend hardworking. This is so typical. |

Intel needs to up its game, eg go all-in in 10nm node and 8-Cores or more processors. . |

Intel is just down right now,as they bet on the wrong horse.
But please google how much is Intel R&D outlay versus AMD R&D. Matter of time before they catch up and lead again. |
