the main role of a bass player is taking care of the bottom end and make the rest of the band members sounds good. ;p once that is done than maybe can slap show a bit here and there.

i used DR Black Beauties on 1 of my warwick. its great btw, looks damn pretty, sounded a bit mellow due to the coating, depends on your preferences. i bought a few sets back from sg. sold 1 set of black beauties 5er yesterday. i bought in rm$160 or so.

i wanan change color to red or pink next round.

most guitar shops will sell the liquid thingie to protect strings. Just ask them for string cleaners.

You can probably get fastfret too, since it both lubricates and protects the strings.

U can get a DR high beam set 4 strings for rm105 from js music

im not sure if that's the cheapest range, but i consider that very cheap for a set of dr. the 5 string version would probably set u back around rm130. but it's definitely worth it. considering that im using a rm75 daddario prism that only sounds bright for a little less than a month. after that, dead strings, brader! if u dun mind dead strings like some of the forummers here, then go for daddario, no offence to bassix, the daddario fan .

dr's brightness would probably last more than 3 months, sometimes 6, reboiling it after that would return the brightness for another month or 2 months.

a lot of shops in malaysia dat don't have dr would recommend rottosound, anyone tried that before? they say it's quite good, rm90 for a 5 string set if  im not mistaken.

prism discontinued model already, if i'm not mistaken, but you can still find them in quite a number of music stores in malaysia.

they are wat d'addario call as the brightest strings on the market. well, after a week of usage it's definitely not .

actually it's not advisable to boil strings. they'll get brittle. i suggest soaking the strings in spirit. it cleans the strings really well with no ill effects. i do this quite often and yes, it does make your strings twangy again. do try yourself. i learnt this from the web
