QUOTE(Bassix @ Dec 31 2007, 02:32 AM)
actually i do bang around occasionally on the drums and to be quite honest it's the hardest thing i've ever done. Or tried to do. When you try to control your attack with those sticks it's quite hard because they're so long. Bassists have it easy only having to control their fingers or a pick  tongue.gif  laugh.gif

I think the key to practicing is to relax. Don't even bother trying to build up speed. Speed comes naturally when you have all those muscles trained and controlled. I've never practiced above 100bpm before. The only time i turn the metronome up is to test myself on how fast i can go. But the real practice takes place at 100bpm and most of the time even slower about 60 or so.

And now i've totally gone back to stone age with my bass playing because of neglecting rudiments. So busy with other stuff *sigh*...  mad.gif
So don't neglect your rudiments, it could be disastrous to your playing.

Yes Sir! Rudiments it is then!
