Finally my UniFi TV is one year old since I changed my package from Aneka+Ruby to Ultimate only since both also RM 60. (I cannot cancel Aneka earlier and had to pay RM 30+30, might as well change to Ultimate for RM 60.) Yes, my plan is weird, I used to have two packages.

I am not sure if they will allow me to downgrade to only Ruby - RM 30 so I can cut down my monthly from 129 to 99. I asked for few years and they said, they can do for me but will reduce the discount for Internet, so eventually I will still pay RM 129.

I also received promo to add Mesh which I didn't accept though.

UniFi will not remove your UniFi TV, most likely just change it to app based only.

No woo. Latest certain plans do not have UniFi TV. Even the app based one.

Really? Good to hear that, we can finally getting rid of it. I'm still trying to change Ultimate to Ruby but CS took gazillion years to pick up my call... I waited for 30 minutes last round, not sure if it is a good idea to use Live Chat as my plan is kinda special and scared they will screw it up without me talking to them.

Since I will be registering a broadband plan in my new place soon, then I may consider back UniFi though I'm waiting for TIME to come in a few months later. Let's say if it doesn't, I can still consider UniFi now. My earlier preference was TIME > Maxis > UniFi.

Btw my contract end on December 2021 laugh.gif

UniFi TV only 1 year warranty if I'm not mistaken, so you can request if it is still within warranty.

Actually I did try changing my Ultimate to Ruby via Chat, was told they can do so but the discount will also be reduced
*
Yeah, CS told me the same thing too... I wanted to reduce from RM 129 to 99... I'm still thinking to take the risk or not since nobody is watching the UniFi TV anyway. Sometimes CS can be misinforming its customers.

Very strange situation isn't it?

Some people here say they can access with Google or Cloudflare DNS, while I still cannot.

And some say Celcom also block while you are saying Unifi can.........

Very strange.
*
Not sure then, only Celcom is blocked for my case. Probably the site is not stable...

If I take 100Mbps without UniFi TV, does that mean I only need to pay RM 500 termination fees if I terminate it less than a year? I wanna wait for TIME to reach my apartment which TIME feedback they will take some time to enter my apartment. However, I will need Internet and Maxis’ early termination fees will be higher it seems.

This is based on this clause:

Is there any penalty imposed if I terminate my UniFi within the minimum subscription period?
Customer who terminates after 12 months but still before the end of the minimum contract period (24 months) will be charged for broadband termination fee of RM500.
Customer who terminates UniFi before 12 months will be charged a penalty of:
i. Broadband termination fee of RM500 and;
ii. Remaining months of monthly subscription fee of HyppTV pack.
The monthly subscription fee of HyppTV pack is as below:
i. Aneka/Varnam/Ruby/Jumbo Lite/Sports pack: RM30
ii. Jumbo pack: RM60
Customer must also settle any outstanding bill prior to termination. For more information, please refer to your service Terms & Conditions.

I'm afraid you cannot do that. That's their cash cow. Refer to item #1 & #11 in the T&C you provided.

You could however find and book someone who is willing to take up your account by Transfer of Ownership.

Also I believe Time would have promotion to waive off the penalty fees if you transfer to them.

The thing is there is a package without any UniFi TV now. RM 89 and RM 129...

I’m actually having another UniFi plan, paying RM 129 only for 500Mbps which my sister is using the account. I don’t think this RM 129 for 100Mbps will be attractive for people to take over my ownership. laugh.gif

I don’t have any other choice for now because Internet is essential for me as my whole house is equipped with a lot of smart home devices.

The RM500 penalty charge is only imposed on users who are still using the old Unifi plan, (Before the TurbO in 2018)

While for the current unifi plan, if you terminate your internet plan within the contract period, there will be a penalty charge according to the monthly balance of the contract. An example is, you have subscribed to an internet plan for RM129 per month, and still have 16 months left. So the calculation of the penalty charge imposed is RM129 x 16 = RM2,064 (price does not include SST tax)

Thanks for the information. Looks like I will need to reevaluate this whole thing again. Sigh.

Can consider Celcom Fibre or Digi Fibre. Termination only RM500 unlike TM and Maxis which needs to pay remaining month. Otherwise you need to find someone to take over your subscription. not much attraction I agree but they can have shorter contract period.
*
Thanks for the tips on Celcom/Digi Fibre, let me see the coverage and early termination clause.

QUOTE(Neo|ofGeo @ Apr 1 2021, 09:24 AM)
call the number and ask about your contract?

shakehead.gif
the penalty of remaining month usually only applies to specials plans not the usual plan you can subscribe in any tm points.
*
Yeah, I will call when the time is nearing. My house hasn't started its renovation, this whole thing will take months I guess.

Thanks guys for the useful feedback. I have read the termination clause and I'm within Celcom/Digi Fibre coverage, will opt for either one in the meantime. smile.gif

Guys, I need help here. Trying to change router to TP-Link AX73 which is supposedly an easy stuff but turns out to be complicated for me.

I’m using this Nokia modem. Can I know if it’s normal that the “Internet” LED is not up? Can anyone using same model as mine confirm this? My only mistake is that I didn’t take a photo of it before I unplugged it. TM CS said the light should be up.
Attached Image

My TP-Link router shows “Internet” LED in orange which means something is wrong. I have configured PPPOE with correct UniFi password. Reset router and still showing this error.
Attached Image

I used back my old router and everything is running well. My old router is Huawei WS880.

I don’t think I have done any mistake. Basically LAN 1 (modem) to WAN (router). I only switched from old router to new router by unplugging the cable and changed to new WAN port. Everything on modem still intact.

Sorry for not resizing the photo and for some reason the photos are not rotated after uploaded. sweat.gif

I already filed a case with UniFi but I am sure my case will be closed later as my Internet is OK.
