ah yea, there's no locking in recline. usually I just set it to recline to the max and put my leg on the table to lie all the way down, and watch movie from a suspended monitor laugh.gif
*
You can set recline tension to the lowest! In that situation + tilt limiter disengaged, you can sort of ensure that the chair will go to your desired position pretty much every time you fall into it.

About reclining to watch movies - tried this with Embody but I can't do it for long periods of time bc neck pain - when it comes to recline, Aeron + Atlas headrest is better than Embody IMO - if you do want to get a full recline chair, Titan Evo 2022 (disclosure: affiliate link - do use it if you'd like to support my work!) is probably still the best consumer option; moving one level up there's the Eames, though when I tried it at TRAX it was comfortable but maybe not SHOUT IT FROM THE MOUNTAINTOPS comfortable xD

So to clarify, this BOAN is selling grey import I assume? saw their offer and a bit skeptical since there are copy selling out there.
*
Definitely real Aeron! Less lemons, more of that they purchase in bulk and hence receive at a lower pricing relative to what consumers can get, and hence offer the chair at that lower price. They do have other chair colors as well, but at different pricings. If you’re interested, I’d contact Ben directly to figure out whether the value proposition that they’re offering is worth it from your POV smile.gif

So far we’ve worked together and I’ve referred some people already - there’s been some discussion of the pickup logistics (they do ask customers to pick up themselves because most customers want to personally inspect the chair quality for themselves), and one uncle I referred made a fuss hence they delivered - no qualms about quality so far though.

About Aeron copies: I saw one company selling these at 4.5k each. I was incredibly entertained by this and drummed up a conversation with them - they were so proud of how they managed to copy the Aeron and managed to procure the molds for the chair (or so they claimed).

How interesting that there are some people out there who would dedicate the very best years of their lives towards imitating a product someone else had created rather than making their own thing and moreover repose pride in that 😂

If anyone’s interested in the Herman Miller Embody~

Edit:

Today during a family gathering, we were playing with a blood pressure monitor (lol standard issue family gathering), and the following result transpired:

Systole: 121
Diastole: 57
Heart rate: 52

Based on the chart in picture #2, it looks like I have the heart rate of an athlete. 🤯

Not sure if this has more to do with the chair I’m sitting in (see: https://blog.smartfurniture.com/products-em...-healthyheart/), or with the fact that I’ve exercised every single day without breaking a single day streak since January 1st 2019 (1041 day unbroken streak).

Either way, blessed to be healthy and looking forward to everything to come - definitely an interesting way to start the week ahead!

A couple of months ago, this thread inspired me to create Malaysia and Singapore's largest ergonomics discussion community, and I'm happy to announce that I've become successful in that goal and in gathering together a vibrant community of people who are passionate about ergonomics.

Thanks to the many of you from Lowyat forums who have joined this group - I count you as a significant part of my progression forward; this could never have happened without you!

For those of you who might be interested in chairs for gaming setups as well as furniture, I've ever since created a new group dedicated towards that, bearing in mind that chairs for gaming don't necessarily entail choosing *gaming chairs* but may also include good quality ergonomic chairs that can be used for pretty much any purpose.

Have a wonderful evening ahead, thank you for your presence, and even if you aren't a member of any of my groups or happen to find my incessant posting as pleasant as taking sandpaper to your face, I genuinely do hope that you'll find a good chair that will suit your needs biggrin.gif

Cheers and have a good evening ahead!
V.

Where can I test Steelcase office chair at KL or Selangor?
*
You can do that at ELY! If you mention Victor and also purchase via the online store, you can use. VR100LG (Leap or Gesture) or VR050TS (Think or Series2) for a small discount smile.gif Call Francis at 012 925 9688 to schedule an appointment!

Released my latest video comparing Steelcase Think V2 to the Steelcase Series2 recently. Feel free to check it out!

Tried these out at ELY the other day (and even played a game of tic tac toe, lol). They’re both incredible ergonomic chairs at a decent price point and a great gift for yourself to whack your back pain out of this universe!

For reference, Series2 is a bit more expensive than the Merryfair Wau (1650), at about 2064 (2014 after discount of RM50 by applying the code VR050TS on the ELY e-store), but has Steelcase’s 12 year warranty (vs Merryfair’s 5), and also has seat depth adjustment in case you need to buy sight unseen but lacks a pivoting headrest.

Think, on the other hand, is Petronas’s chair of choice it seems (20000 units procured recently, I heard). It’s a chair you can ‘Think’ in, it’s priced at 2.5k, and… And you should watch the video and feel free to drop a like, a subscribe, or any questions you may have in the comments section if you’d like to send some good vibes 🥰

TGIF and have an incredible one ahead!

Any special promo available for the Leap V2?
*
Unfortunately nope (the 5k for two promo is long gone), though Malaysia’s probably the place where you can get it for the cheapest! If you use the code ‘VR100LG’, which basically means ‘Victor Referral 100 Leap Gesture’, that should give you an additional RM100 off.

Do you know if any of the Steelcase chairs have full meshed option?
*
By full mesh you mean mesh seat? Think is kind of a mesh chair but with a seat cushion. If you’re looking for full mesh you might consider the TakeASeat Sail (VICXTAS5 for 5% discount) and the HM Aeron, or you might consider waiting for Steelcase Karman when it arrives smile.gif

TakeASeat (Malaysia) sponsored this TakeASeat Sail a while ago after a comment on my Secretlab x Aeron video, and I just released a review about it, which you can find down below!

Some pros and cons for those of you who don’t do videos for some reason:

>> Pros: <<

1. It’s a full mesh chair! The only other *full* mesh chair I’ve seen is the Aeron. As a full mesh chair, this one is very breathable, and the mesh is comfortable and supportive - it’s great if you are in a warmer climate.

2. Very adjustable, features many more adjustments than the price would suggest.

Specifically, this chair has a height adjustable backrest/lumbar support, has height and pivot adjustable headrest, 4D armrests, seat height, and also seat depth adjustment, which is pretty rare at this price point (RM1549 base price) here:

Receive a 5% discount when you apply the coupon code VICXSTA5 on your purchase! Disclosure: Affiliate code!

3. Comfortable on recline and also in general: The chair has a synchro tilt mechanism, which means that the angle of your legs broadly remains constant when you recline.

>> Cons: <<

1. Not an Aeron, which features higher quality mesh, comfort, and materials compared to this chair - though Aeron is about four times the price if you purchase it from TRAX, and also has no headrest.

Mesh is a little bit coarse, which can be an issue if for some reason you want to berbogel (SG friends, new vocab word LOL) x duduk on your chair.

2. 2 year warranty, which is definitely shorter compared to some companies like Herman Miller and Steelcase (12 years) or to Secretlab (3 + 2 = 5 years let me run away real quick while y’all prepare the pitchforks for mentioning Secretlab on an ergonomic chair group LOL).

3. Adjustment mechanism for backrest height takes some getting used to, because if you raise the back too high, it falls back down and you have to start again.

4. Foam padding near the front can collect dust, as James Madison attested to on a YouTube comment. Thanks for the feedback!

>> Overall: <<

This is a pretty comfortable and adjustable chair, and it’s great for the price point. It’s not an Aeron, but it does the job well, and also has certain features such as lumbar height adjustment and seat depth adjustment, which the Aeron does not have.

If you’re looking for a mid-budget full mesh chair with adjustable seat depth and lumbar/back height adjustment, this is a chair that’s definitely worth considering!

Ah yes, also! Haven't seen any comprehensive reviews of Alterseat’s CG-07 Plus and Prime before, so I figured I'd make one biggrin.gif

Alterseat has some major quality and ergonomic issues.

1. The preset recline is not linear. It's like sit straight, then a small recline level, then suddenly a huge recline.
2. The height adjustment lever is hard to control.
3.The armrest bottom mechanism got oil/grease leaking out. If you grip the armrest's bottom fully, sometimes you may get greasy finger.
4. This may be me, but the neck position is out for me. Ikea and Secretlab has neck support that match me.
*
Yeah that’s fair. Secretlab is probably more worth it for a lot of people, but the only thing is that it’s more expensive!
AS is kind of ergonomic, and might be decent, but it’s not going to get you like mind blowing comfort or anything 😅
