Just got it, and so far so good.
With only fan and without aircon, I would say little hot, but bearable.

Found a sticker underneath the seat pad, it says made in malaysia, photo a bit blur.

Oh word dude! It got there smoothly! How is it compared to your previous chair(s)?

For mine, I don’t know if I said this before, but someone at GDEX literally stole the chair and I’m pretty sure ELY had to claim insurance on that 😅

A lot of furnitures are actually manufactured in MY until China takes over.
Thats why you see chairs that look similar like some overseas brands but under a different name. Could be the same manufacturer manufacturing for the other company, thats why they have the blueprints and then sell them as their own.
*
I don’t think Steelcase is manufactured in Malaysia alone - I would suspect that Malaysia is only one of the places where it is manufactured.

The pricing is an interesting question though, that I’m interested to explore; Leap and Gesture are cheaper here than most places (ELY says anywhere) else in the world (it is true - prices are at least 1000USD in the US; Singapore, it’s 1668SGD), and Francis told me that that’s in part a pricing consideration that takes into account competitor chairs on the market.

At this point I do wonder what chairs, specifically, are the direct competitors of Leap and Gesture - I would guess Herman Miller Sayl for one, and my friend mentioned Haworth Zody, but I don’t know haha - but it’s kind of like a Rafael Nadal v Federer rivalry regardless of the presence of any Djokovics or Murrays.

Tried those coupon at ELY website, it doesn't work.

Anyway, did they mention how much is the corporate rate for leap v2?
*
Hey! Sorry about that - I’ll check with Francis in a bit; he hasn’t gotten back to me about that but has just said for now that if it’s 50 and above we can talk; hasn’t told me about what the price would be yet. I’ll reconfirm and after the code works again, post once again in this thread.

Hey dude! Maybe try again? No issue on ELY’s end
or you can contact Francis at 012-925 9688 and say you know Victor - they will honor the coupon (lasts September).

Corporate discount rate is:

3500 for 20 chairs above.
1% discount off base of 3500 for 50 chairs above, and 2% discount off for 100 chairs above.

I will take no commission on mass group purchases, and only ask that if you know anyone who would like a small discount on the Leap (RM100 discount - I will take a small commission) for immediate purchase that you simply call Francis and mention that you know Victor, or use VR100LG at checkout for Leap, and VR050TS for Think and Series2 - more partnerships are upcoming.

For long term group purchase, DM me if you want the group chat link smile.gif (I posted it here once and some fake American came and started messaging all my group members)

Using big pay will be around 905 MYR, if more ppl to share shipping fee then would be cheaper

Got it thank you! You can also get the headrest from BOAN furniture. I was quoted 760 for the cushion headrest from the local distributor. Think that’s significantly cheaper but takes longer to deliver as they need to get it from Atlas.

Also ATTENTION HERMAN MILLER AERON PURCHASERS! Will be working with BOAN designs on promoting the Aeron:

Fully loaded Remastered Aeron

RM5100 Black
RM5600 Grey
RM6100 White

For all customers that referred by you (he is referring to customers referred by me - Victor Tan), we will give them additional RM100 discount.

They do also sell the suspension headrest for RM900. Not sure if you’ll get a discount though!

I also asked about repairs, and what he said was that if you’re in the klang valley, the company will send out people to service the product for you, and if you’re outside of it, they will send the parts to you.

So there you go! If you guys are interested in Aeron, if you’re ok with say not going with the ‘official distributor’, BOAN is a good alternative, and a couple of people have already bought via him and had good experiences smile.gif
Click this link to see what they have to offer!

Also, if anyone is interested in the Leap, here’s a video about my experience buying the Leap from ELY, having the courier partner lose it, and having them send over another a chair via Lalamove.

As before, you can receive a discount of RM100 if you purchase the chair or Gesture with the code VR100LG, and RM50 if you purchase a Think or Series2 with VR050TS smile.gif

Not sure is this out of topic, after bought wau 2, I manage to fix the chair problem but now another problem arise. Due to my height, I have to set the chair to its highest and my bare can’t place flat on the ikea dagotto like in the image

Wonder do u guys have any recommendations for the higher footrest?

Why don't you try this?

Here's the URL! https://bit.ly/3oOIFx0

Out of curiosity, what's stopping you from just setting your feet flat on the ground...? Is it mainly your table that's the problem, or do you just like footrests?

Hey, you're welcome clement5949! Sorry I've not been posting on this forum for a while - I've been pretty busy building a couple of things here and there. Hope that you're well and that the footrest works! Yeah I thought that might be the case! Footrests are really good for that - I've even heard of pianos with footrests built in and even pedal extenders that people use when they want to extend the pedals (especially good for children)!

I found something to complain about the Herman Miller chair, it’s not good for leisure when I just wanna relax at night and watch show on my PC. Thinking to get an extra lounge/lazy chair. Any recommendations? Or just go for ikea’s?
*
Oh hey miyakochan! How's the Aeron treating you? I'd recommend the Titan Evo 2022, and I do have footage of the world's greatest spine expert recommending it on camera, and that'll probably be out by next Friday or the Friday after xD

I'll be releasing a new video next week (possibly Monday?) about the Aeron vs. Secretlab for sure!

If you're looking for another office chair might wait for the Steelcase Karman then! (I actually have a friend named Kar Man - imagine her expression when I told her that she will forever have a chair named after her LOL) The Steelcase Think is also mesh but then you have the Aeron, so no point.

If you want something that's like recline + mesh, then I can only think of one option:

I asked TRAX to pick the color with the smallest average color distance to the hexadecimal code #80000, and that was the Cinder Medley! It would have been good if they had this for Balance or Sync but we make do with what we have 😭

I’ll post a pic when it comes ^^

TITAN EVO 2022 VS HERMAN MILLER AERON

Hey guys! In case anyone's interested in both the Titan Evo 2022 and the Aeron, here's my review and a detailed comparison between both chairs! 😀

This was really fun to make (definitely learned a lot), and I hope you'll enjoy it - thanks for watching (if you could watch it to the end that would be amazing as that really fires up the algorithm!) and feel free to subscribe and like if you’d like to help more Malaysian content creators and reviewers reach the international stage!

Bro, you know any shop that sells after market parts for secretlab chair? I am looking for the tilt mechanism, hydraulic and wheel base.
*
Sorry, I don't! You could go on Taobao and find a matching part, but honestly to avoid that issue altogether I'd recommend just buying the parts directly from SL. I'm not a very build-your-own-chair person at the moment, though that could change. You're trying to build your own chair...? If you're looking for the parts en masse, I think you can go ahead and order from Alibaba/Taobao, though that requires navigating through the murky world of MOQs and sketchy Chinese factory owners...

Maybe use ur current chair for desk task work, and maybe get something like Ikea Poang for leisure?
The Titan Evo 2022 good as a task chair? As good as a Herman Miller Aeron/Steelcase Leap v2 or not? Only reason why I'm looking at SecretLab is because it can recline, so can use as both a task chair during the day and for leisure at night while relaxing playing game/watch movie?

But I heard the Titan Evo 22 is stiff, hard etc...and also, the quality control not so good, the leather can flake etc. Is that so?
*
Hey bro!

It's a good task chair, I'd say - but it's a better relaxing chair. Frankly, the boundaries between what's a task chair and what's not aren't so clear - for example, I was having a chat with a famous spine professor recently, and I asked him this very same question.

His response was interesting - he looked at me quizzically, then asked me...

"Is this not work?"

I was like... What?

It took me a while, but I got his point. If you can use it to game, you can use it to work - the boundaries between both activities, if we think about it, are mostly conceptually defined, because they both involve sitting for long periods of time.

At the end of the day, you're looking for a chair that can migrate stress from your weight and that your back would otherwise feel into the chair; SL is good ergonomics and cured my back pain in March, hence why I went out to get three more - that was what I genuinely felt and experienced, long before hearing this discussion about gaming chairs, ergonomic chairs, etcetera.

Perfect for work - no problems with tasking etc.

Having experienced HM, I feel it's better in some ways such as when you sit straight and if you're paying attention, but I don't think it's worth 3x the price and feel that the majority of people who rabidly rage about gaming chairs sucking more than ergonomic chairs can only afford one of them and spend time raging from the other side. It's not that it's morally bad or anything that you can't buy something like that because guess what we've all been there (unless you inherited dynastic wealth or something), but I think human psychology just kinda suggests to people that if something's more expensive it's better, and they generalize from limited experiences into every single product like they're gods of human understanding bc they wanna seem smart sweat.gif

Anyway it's an understandable feeling and I don't begrudge people that.

I often get the feeling that if I had never discovered HM or Steelcase and just discovered SL, I wouldn't be making all these judgments about what's better, though on some level, maybe that's just a cop-out because I don't know can't know what it's like to sit in SL over 30-40 years versus sitting in what people call fantastic ergonomic chairs for the same duration of time because frankly, I'm not old enough to know people who've been doing something like that and SL's basically only seven years old.

I see. I heard this Titan Evo 22 quite hard to sit on the butt, plus the way the seat curves up and it restricts the bloodflow at the thighs there. Is that so?
*
It’s possible to have the chair cut off your circulation as a result of the seat depth being too long for your femoral length.

It is possible that this can happen - Secretlab’s sizing guide is not great if you are shorter but if you’re 170 above usually it works
But not always; that said, you can check out my sizing video (ranked #1 in YT search for “secretlab sizing”) if you’re interested aaaaaaaaannnnndddddd officially sorry TS for hijacking your thread with promotional content 😭😭😭

That said, the circulation cutoff thing would happen with any chair you’d buy where seat depth is longer than femoral length because in that case you can’t use the backrest
But probably not as a result of the seat edge curve I think! If you’d like a chair with adjustable seat depth I recommend the Leap or Gesture (PSA: RM100 off on the ELY website via promo code VR100LG)

For the Titan Evo 2022, that seat looks like it’s curved, but it’s actually quite soft around the sides and when the weight of your legs pushes down on it, you won’t have issues with that if your legs are long enough for the chair that you buy. You might have issues with that if you were on the Titan 2020, but it’s frankly minimal chance.

But yeah there’s a couple interviews with Secretlab’s EAB, some ergonomic research, and some pretty detailed thoughts on that video! If you’d like to support this kind of content, feel free to check out via the link in the description, to subscribe, or to share the video with anyone you know - thank you so much in advance! 🙏

Thanks again and hope everyone’s seated in comfort!

To your good health and prosperity!
