Hm... just searched their average height. I'm more or less there

Is the seat too big? Like the current Tomaz I have its too big to be comfortable. I have to seat way back to get the back post support.
*
Yeah the seat is big. But if you say that you are tall then it shouldn’t be a problem? It’s not a adjustable though the depth. You should go and try it out yourself.

I think this chair is seriously built for 180cm and above. And that’s average vikings height. Anyways I joked about the Scandinavian height. But it’s seriously built only for tall people.

Most people don’t find it comfortable.

Full mesh will always be better unless you plan to switch on A/C 24 hours/7

Will mesh seats be too soft for maintaining proper posture long hours?
*
No, good ones are pretty tough. And mesh seats are not that soft. In fact I think cushioned one will change shapes even faster?

How long it takes normally for the mesh back to become loose?

Seems like it’s harder to support the back when the mesh is loose
*
Really depends on the quality. If it's just a few hundred bucks one, you can expect it to slightly run out of shape/sag within a year or 2, depending on usage also.

You do get what you pay for. The good quality mesh really feels different from the getgo.

Hi guys, I'm looking to purchase the remastered Aeron chair.

Is Trax Furniture my best bet to obtain an original one? Any other legitimate sellers that I can reach out to for a potentially better price?
*
yes trax is the only you can get from. And the warranty is legitimate. The rest of other sellers/resellers is just supplier's warranty. Becareful on that. i have checked with them, if there's an issue, they TRY to give/replace the broken parts.

But i got it from Trax in the end, and i was unfortunate enough to have faulty Aeron Chair. Instead of TRYING to change the broken parts? They sent real mechanics that opened up the chairs, confirmed that it's broken and then just replace a brand new chair still sealed in the box for me. Because that's the Herman Miller's authorised guarantee.

So you get what you pay for. I was glad that i didn't cheap out on that money seriously because if i had any issues, i don't know how the "suppliers" could help me solve the problems. And they won't replace a new chair for you for sure.

That's a very good point, thanks.  thumbsup.gif I came across some alternative sellers, but they come off too dubious for me to make any kind of deal with them.
*
yes because you are paying even 5-6K for other resellers. You do not really know where they get these supplies from, could be "rejected" or "faulty" goods for all we know.

You do pay more for Trax furnitures, about 6K - 7K these days, but at least you get a peace of mind. If you are paying that much money for something, just get from authorized dealer. The only one in Malaysia is Trax Furniture.

Just curious how do you guys maintain/clean the fabric cushion/head rest?

and what's the frequency?
*
i just use a wet cloth to clean as often as possible. Since im using mesh, the dust will fall away at the bottom. And it gets very dusty, so have to clean more thoroughly on that area. I never use cushion chair before cause that's way too unhygienic for me.

Me too. I'm torn between Sihoo M57 and IKEA Markus.

But Markus have no stock at IKEA Batu Kawan.

bangwall.gif
*
Sihoo M57 has better adjustments than ikea markus. Ikea Markus is quite simply an office chair. apart from the seat height, you can't adjust anything else.
And it's horrible for short people.

May i ask if anyone of u guys using noblechairs ICON? im still undecided on whether just get fabric to avoid the peeling issues of PU leather/synthetic leather/hybrid leather whatever leather they claimed to be. Had bad experience with these fake leathers before.
*
in our weather it's best to get fabric, even better with mesh. smile.gif

Leather is just way too hard to maintain for something that you have to sit for a long time and most likely cause a lot of sweating thanks to our weather. Whether it's synthetic, hybrid or PU leather will always experience peeling issues as well.

Wanna check with owners of M57...

Anyone of you encountering issue where the lumbar support would drop by itself after sometime eventhough u already set it to the preferred height? I wonder is it normal, an issue with my sitting, or an issue with my chair
*
No, no chairs should have movable lumbar support that doesn't set into place based on your adjustments. Something is loose in your case.

Guys, is secretlab chair is good ?
*
Nope. There are no gaming chairs are actually that good as compared to other office chairs that specialize in ergonomics. Gaming chair is mainly just the look and brand only. You can get a racing car chair and fix it yourself and voila!

QUOTE(tiagar @ Apr 28 2022, 12:10 AM)
Got the sihoo m57 cause it was cheaper, after 5 days of usage I can say it's pretty sturdy and heavy, could lean back fully without falling which I couldn't do on my old chair, full mesh feels pretty good, only qualm is the lumbar support

I put it at the highest setting and it reaches the curve of my back fine, but even at the lowest depth setting it feels kinda uncomfortable and protruding, maybe because I haven't sat properly in so long so I think it's engaging my core muscles or smth like that, but I still feel kinda uncomfortable regardless, not sure if it is pain or soreness but once I pull it all the way down I feel instant relief, is it supposed to be like that?

Gonna give it a few weeks before I just straight up remove the lumbar support tbh, hopefully this is normal and I get used to it
*
QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Apr 29 2022, 02:09 AM)
I think its normal. The thing about ergo chair is they force you to sit properly, and if you havent done so in a long time you will feel uncomfortable and not used to it initially.

I recommend starting out with the lumbar support in the lowest depth setting and slowly increase it if you want once you feel more used to it
*
No, IT NOT NORMAL. The chair should make you feel comfortable, at a reasonable shape. If you feel like you have to force yourself and end up more discomfort, then the chair's shape is not for you. Everyone has height difference. Even a person same height as you, let's say 170cm vs 170cm. there's also a difference in back length, leg length and body shape. So a chair that might work for 170 cm, might not work for another person that's 170 cm.

If it's already 5 days and you still feel pain and discomfort, it's a big sign that the chair is not for you. Since the back is protruding a lot, i suggest that you put a flat cushion at your back, put a layer between you and the lumbar support. You might feel more comfortable. Other than that, you gotta go around and scout for another chair.

A lot of the lumbar supports have arches that are way too exaggerating. It's easy to check if the lumbar support of the chair is as good as it claims. Just take the model, and compare the shapes and sizes with reputable brands such as Steelcase, Herman Miller, or Okamura. Do you see the shape of their chairs arch that way? How about their lumbar support? Is it overly aggressive as compared to the branded ones or quite similar? Then you will have a good idea whether that chair that you want to buy is being ridiculous in their designs.

QUOTE(watertower @ Apr 29 2022, 05:18 AM)
The same happened to me with cg prime, the lumbar support hurt my back so much but luckily the refund was accepted and i concluded that ergonomic chair is not for everyone. Dont force yourself to sit on a chair that gives you pain.

Ya, thats the thing - Sayl is actually more comfortable than the usual Aerons we been seeing in opis.. thats y it took me by surprise n now thinking of getting one for own use.
I like the Sayl for being more 'settled' as compared to the creaks/cracks during movements which u highlighted earlier..

this is very interesting, given Sayl is the less-famous chair of HM
*
cause Aeron is the face of HM and it has a longer legacy than any other. It already has a formula that works well.
The rest is just new formula, new experiments. Some people like it, some people won't.
And if they are scared, they can always fall back to Aeron that works well generally for everyone.

Standing desk . no need chair sit once in a while then stand

Yall keep thinking good chair posture is good but in reality u dont need a chair it free cardio and it train your lowerbody part which yall office worker need to exercise the most

go ask doctor they will not tell you buy XX brand chair but tell you to walk more and not sit too long doesnt matter apa chair you got
*
I work out a lot, intensively and regularly, and while exercises help to eliminate my back pain. But investing in a good chair is also one of the best thing that i have done for my life. I'm not going to spoil all my working out effort by sitting on a random chair and somehow the chair hurts my back because it forces or does not allow me to sit properly.

When it comes to the body, exercises help a lot sure. But just like joggers need good shoes to help them to absorb the impact and make their jogging journey more comfortable. Everyone who sits more than 4 - 5 hours a day, regardless of standing up or not, fit or not, can also invest in a comfortable chair that helps and elevate the experience along the sitting hours.

You obviously pull craps out of your ass, cause doctors will tell you to sit properly, and of course exercise always helps. Any doctors for any issues will always tell you to exercise. But do you see doctors sitting on CRAPPY chairs themselves? THEY DONT.

So cut your bullshits.

Compared with Japanese yen we are doing well though. So I guess the price hike is due to Russia-Ukraine war maybe? (Shortage of chair parts raw materials)
*
Even though it's Japanese, and you think it's transacted using YEN???

Export/import is transacted using USD worldwide. On top of raw materials shortage, and price increase. Fuel prices hike up so much, even plane tickets are so expensive these days because of the increase of fuel prices.
