I can vouch for kc2500. given its cheap price in Malaysia, I'm surprised it is hardly being recommended. its performance is up there and temps are good. likewise for kc3000.

mine is close to the advertised spec (edit: after firmware update).. but installed as a secondary drive and about 30GB used.
not as fast as my samseng evo plus but given the price is substantially cheaper, i can't complain.

Yes, it is subject to the laptop's ssd interface. I believe the xpa 9560 supports pcie gen 3.0, not the newer 4.0.

Thanks for reminding, i totally forgot about this model. Picked one 1TB for less than rm500 as I ran out of space on my kc2500. I was looking for 1TB KC2500 but found out it has been discontinued. Other options are 8200 Pro, HP EX950, P5, CS3030 but this Transcend is the cheapest of the lot.

Looks like midrange Gen3 SSD are slowly being phased out.

updated: on normal operation the 220s runs perfectly fine with low temp. however, when copying/writing big chunks of data, the drive temp will shoot up > 80c. maybe not suitable for ITX kaki.

You can even get 2TB MTE220s for less than 1k. this drive runs hot during sustained writes though.

970 Evo plus is still king for high sustained writes rates, so no issue with your choice here.

Cheapest of the cheap but quite fast for a gen3, but quite fast. My 1tb runs pretry hot though under full load (>80c). Lol.

I have it nstalled with a copper heatsink (in a laptop). Normal / gaming runs below 50c. So no complains hehe. It only gets up to 83c when i copy large chunks of files but i no longer need to do that so no biggie.

yes, I replaced my KC2500 with the MTE220S. HP EX950 is also another alternative.

I'm guilty as charged. Impulse purchased a 1TB kc3000 for rm275 recently, supposedly for a new build which may never see the light. Another kc2500 left unused though i can still install in the kids laptop as a secondary drive.

I do believe top tier Gen4 SSD will stay relevant for a loong time. The speed is plenty fast for most use.

Gen5 runs hot AF so that is probably a big turn off, until someone comea out with a better controller with a better and cooler controller haha.

That is a good price (with vouchers) at current market.

All IT is ok. Shipping out is a bit slow but all good. I bought stuffs from them before.

i can see ssd prices keep creeping up. kc3000 2tb from 500 (nov23) > 600 > now 700++

Mine is 1TB model, I doubt i have reached its claimed TBW (too good to be true anyway) and not even 90% full. All i know, windows entered check disk and in windows, the disk appeared intermittently. Cant even detect the diak in bios.
