Got myself a 2TB XLR8 CS3040 a few days back. Cost around RM996 after some 8.8 discount. Not much of gen4 speed but still better than gen3. Also the price difference.

QUOTE(x-1o8-x @ Aug 11 2021, 02:54 PM) ![]() ![]() This are the tests I did earlier. The one with the higher numbers is with the "NVMe SSD" selected in the settings tab. While the lower numbers is with the "default" selected. I'm not sure which one to select for this test. First time doing these kinda tests. Throwing in my other drives in here just for comparison. ![]() Adata SX8200 Pro ![]() Samsung 850 EVO Sata3 ![]() WD Black (mechanical) |

QUOTE(BOTAK_WAI @ Aug 23 2021, 03:23 AM) china forum reported that new batch WD SN550 1TB & 500GB write speed drop tremendously after the cache was exhausted but under what circumstances will the cache be filled? Any daily tasks that we can relate to?https://bbs.nga.cn/read.php?tid=28144959 https://bbs.nga.cn/read.php?tid=28181945 |

QUOTE(BOTAK_WAI @ Aug 23 2021, 03:40 PM) both…multiple small file memang slow because rely on its 4k write speed. holy crap! half the speed! Thanks for explaining.to explain it in simpler way: old sn550 1tb if i copy 40gb file into it, the 1st 12GB will be written in full speed, then after that will drop to 800MB/s. new sn550 1tb if i copy 40gb file into it, the 1st 12GB will be written in full speed, then after that will drop to 400MB/s. |
